Spurs (H) 2nd Leg - Post Match Thread

Gutted - what a game;

Thought we played so much great football but one shout out to their star over the two legs and their tie winner - we were beaten by
“The Son Heung-min team”

Great effort by the lads.
And supporters.
Bit unlucky.
But fucking proud to be blue.
Seasons is now 5 league games.
And a cup final.
Win all 6 and it's our best ever season.
Weve got brilliant players.
A brilliant manage.
Yes people make mistakes.
But.
Pep plays the best football I've ever seen.
Come on blues one last push.

I’ve just seen their goal. He scored with his arm! I thought so at the time but assumed I was wrong because VAR let it stand!

Fantastic game last night but the manner of how we lost really hit the players hard you could see that, I just hope they can pick themselves up for Saturday because we need to win. What damaged us last night more than anything was the 1st leg and Peps team selection on that day (playing Delph who made the mistake and Mahrez) clearly he was thinking of the next league game which we won so it was justified I guess. The reality is you cannot underestimate the power of the away goals rule although I feel that it should be scrapped just like golden goal was because lets face it its unfair. 4-4 on aggregate says we play ET.

Laporte had a shocker last night and Ederson didn't play great either, perhaps because he could see that Laporte was having a wobble I don't know.

There was one criticism I have of Pep last night and that was he brought Fernandinho on too soon when we had the attacking momentum, he should have waited for another goal before making that change in my opinion.

VAR worked well up until the offside call, Llorente' goal was fine it did hit his arm but wasn't deliberate and was in a natural position so I don't think we can argue that one, the ref communicated well with the viewers both in the stadium and at home and we could see him reviewing it on the touchline. When it came to the offside I don't know what happened, he never reviewed it himself, BT never showed the replay either and watching it now its dodgy. Eriksen plays it into Berno and it hits his ankles and loops up into Aguero's path, is that offside? Berno didn't exactly play it to Aguero I know he's good but come on, the last clear touch came from a Spurs player. What exactly is the rule on ricochets?

OK, although it's already been said several times on here,
Poor selection - Fern & Sane should have started for Silva & Gundogan both of whom were ineffective
Poor performance - Big mistakes from Laporte and below par performances from Eddy, Mendy and, despite his goal, Aguero.
Poor first leg - The missed penalty and our lack of finishing also cost us dear and although we scored 4 goals last night it should have been more.
