1) Khusanov was superb.

2) Doku was outstanding, but lacked some end product.

3) Ederson saved our bacon with some good positional play and saves.

4) Nunes played his best game in a City shirt.

5) Savinho just needs to release sooner and not give the ball away in such difficult overloads, as we struggle to defend ourselves when he does that, and he’d be world class.

Doku's end product was great in the first half.

Doku great, Khus with an excellent cold blooded calm performance. Nunes with his best game yet but doubt any of the multitudes here ready to ship him out would give him credit.

That said .. glad a smattering on here had hope we'd find a way to win instead of burying them with absolutely no chance before it even started. You're welcome for the sliver of positivity.

Life is too fucking short to give up before the fact. The lack of spine and willingness to absolutely fold at the scent of a challenge makes me wonder how we're not all speaking German.

Khusanov again!
Chapeau to Doku (again) and Eddie for a great save.
But fuck me we should have been out of sight again by half time, so profligate.
Instead were hanging on at the end despite the referee making a huge mistake.

Doku was world class in the 1st half, deserved 2-3 assists. The complaint about his end product in this game is weird. Do people actually watch our games?

Khusanov. He is rapidly coming to terms with the speed of the Premier League. Another good 90 odd minutes under his belt. Doku did well but still has to keep working on that last pass/ball or whether to shoot, ditto for Savinho, although in the end, I was getting frustrated with Savinho tonight. Ederson’s save towards the end was tremendous and not enough was made of that save on the commentary.
Agree with all of this, esp the Savinho bit.

Doku's end product was great in the first half.
Hence the word “some,” considering he played almost the whole game, and had some shooting opportunities he either did it take or fluffed. It’s the only downfall of BOTH of our outstanding young wingers!

Khush, Doku, Nunes, Ederson superb.

Khush has had a hell of a start to his career in sky blue.

1,2,3. Bang on the money. 4 I'll have to re-run the match, didn't notice at the time.5, Shades of Jesus Navas, did the business but no fooker in the box.

4) He did a good job as a RB, but played the inverted midfielder role much, much better than I’ve seen in the past. He held onto the ball rather than playing the ball pass and looked much more confident in the team. He also linked well down the line and was unfortunate not to get an assist for Haaland. Still feels like he’s got a bit of crazy in him (a la United game), but if you’d said he’s our regular RB, I don’t think you would have said we desperately need a replacement on tonight’s performance.

5) Savinho is an absolute baller, with outstanding talent. However, the timing of the pass, the desire for another touch, and him stopping expecting a foul ALL have to improve. That said, given his age and his first season under difficult circumstances, he might be a revelation next season. I absolutely love his pacing when he meets the defender. He jockeys, jockeys and then bursts with a change of pace that almost no opposition FB can match. It’s from there that his wing play has to improve, because he is electric.

The odd thing about savinho was in the pre season the one thing that stood out to me was his willingness to pass early. It's why I prefer him on the left. Without him having to think about cutting inside the extra touches disappear.

I think he can play equally well on both sides and I was very surprised they didn’t switch wings to get a few crosses in, esp considering Spurs regular CB pairing was out and Haaland should have had a field day in the air!

I watched the match last night in a rag pub. Only rag commentary allowed. City match in silence. When I got home I was still under the impression we'd won 2-0. Not a clue why the goal was disallowed. My concentration wasn't at its best with snarling at every red that passed. Things were made worse by rags in denial about the blatant red card and the anti united bias by the officials !!!
I now remember mentioning that Savinho tended to take too many touches when he had the opportunity to score. Next time the matches clash, I will be choosing another pub.

I can't bear Nunes, bit he played his best game for us tonight. Khusanov though, MOTM, again.
