Spurs Post Match Thread | ICC match in Nashville

Good game. Impressive from all. Hopefully Gabriel and Sergio (who was unlucky) are saving them all up for the season proper.
For a few minutes I was wondering if someone had made a mistake in setup and they put narrow goals on the pitch. That post won't talk back to Aguero or Jesus any time soon with the walloping it got.

Have to fight back the urge to get excited by that. Proof beyond doubt now that 3-5-2 isn't just an option, it's possibly even better suited to our play. Good luck being the opposition manager trying to guess not only who will play but how we will line up. Ederson was fantastic, he's so so quick off his line, in possession he's considerably better than Bravo, doesn't dawdle on the ball putting the receiver under pressure. That kick to Aguero second half too, he'll get half a dozen assists if we learn to finish.

Some similar issues to last season though, namely the complete failure to convert guilt edge chances that bordered on laughable at times. Needs addressing.

Gives a clearly indication of what business we still need to do this summer. I think Sane is wasted as the alternative wingback if that's what Pep is planning, and we could really do with another fullback if possible. In that system, keeping them fresh is going to be key.

At the back, Mangala again slotted right in and looked solid to me. Too much is made about his lack of calmness, yes he looks uneasy on the ball but he doesn't actually make a mistake that often, i'd actually say Stones who i thought was excellent again btw, makes more mistakes. We've got others to play football alongside him, let him defend and be that powerful defender we need against the route 1 merchants like United and let him simply pass it to somebody else in possession. Could save ourselves a lot off money if we stick with him.

And of course, upfront. I don't think today necessarily proves we need another striker as both Jesus and Sergio wwould expect a couple a piece any other day but more goals are needed.

Nasri is the dilemma here, he looked superb when he came on and looked up for it too, we simply don't have the space though unless we sacrifice bringing in another forward.

Fucking wonderful at times and yes, we miss some sitters but players are barely playing above 50/60% right now and we can still rip sides apart like that.

Finally 2 full backs and a real goalkeeper.

Going to be one hell of a season methinks ;-)

Very good performance albeit Spurs didn't seem to wake up until midway through the 2nd half. I thought Nasri brought us an assurance to our play and kept us ticking nicely. If only we could combine him with Fernando's physicality and attitude, we'd have a fuckin world beater on our hands!

It's pre-season & I never read much into these matches, but it's always nice to get a win regardless.

Even sweeter for the fact that it was shitty Spurs. Only complaint was that we didn't put 10 past them like our play deserved

Excellent performance from back to front , if it wasnt for a bit of rustiness with our finishing that would have been embarrassing for Spuds .No doubt we will get the Spuds and Real were not really bothered comments , but the look on Zidane's face after the 4-1 and Kane,Alli and Dier losing their Rag in the 3-0 says different. Early days ,but if we keep Kompany , KDB ,Silva, Aguero fit and the new signings settle well , we will take some stopping

We've got space for Nasri, Sanchez and Bertrand if Delph goes. It's what I'd go for but does rely on Mendy/Tosin as 4th CB.
