First of all, what happened to the January transfer window...and second of all, why didn't we sign him up? Maybe we are simply anti-Brazilian these days.

I know I am, they seem to flatter to decieve and never seen to fit into a system, prefer Argentinians as they seem to have more of a work ethic.

Why should we have signed him?

He would only have been replaced if we finished 4th 6 months later.

I think we are waiting to see where we finish (In the hope that its 4th) to sign better players before we actually spend any serious money this year. Hence a quiet January.

they have been chasing him for yonks & finally may have concluded this signing, its just a typical spurs signing of a young talented player who may or may not make the grade in the premiership but with him being ever so young its a chance worth taken,we seem to have hit the jackpot with some of our earlier signings of young talented players over years in the shape of lennon, huddlestone, modric & now gareth bale showing what a fantastic player this boy will be in the coming years, we have a young team & when we do move stadium & aquire that debt,we wont need to go splashing out on players we cant afford, levy will just let this team grow with a few minor tweaks

Playmaker ?

It says in the article he is a tough tackling holding midfielder.

We have enough of these already.

Couldn't agree more, you have some quality young players there. But that is of course if none of the bigger boys come and take away your "crown jewels" knowing that you may need the money, the rags especially have taken a liking to your players in recent years. I hope this doesn't happen BTW, as soon as the "top 4" turn in to a "top 8" the better for us all.

ive never had a problem off sometimes selling a big big player as long as they pay top dollar for them,we have done well out of man utd over the years in the selling of those 2 players for maybe a few million each over the top,in the early 80s,90s i would have been devastated if we lost a player i didnt want to go ie the likes of waddle & gascoigne but not any more,i fell out of love with players years ago & now only love the football club,a player can always be replaced,if they want to go then let them go. i think next year it will be a top 7 with spurs, city & everton being very competitive at the top end of table & the top 4 will cease to exist in the current financial football climate, city do have an advantage money wise but they really do a need a manager that will scare the likes of fergie & wenger like jose mourinho did for a few years,i dont think mancini is that man,but i may be wrong

You can sign anyone whenever you like. Unless he's out of contract he won't be able to play for them until next season.

Brazilians have done fuck all in the EPL. Anyone have the odds of him being a flop in that faggot team?

They signed Modric before the summer window last year.

Amazing/depressing how anti-brazillian a lot of our fans have turned now.

we are heading in the right direction and it will take time but I'm positive that even City can't f*ck this up. Maybe Mancini isn't the right fella, time will tell.

are you surprised? Elano could cause a arguement in a empty room and didn't perform half the time, Robinho didn't perform half the time, Jo....enough said. Have a look at the way Ronaldinho performed against the rags or maybe how Kaka is performing now he's been put in a top class league (because serie A certainly isn't), I'm not saying they're all crap just overrated!

He's a holding midfielder. And he's very highly rated. Internacional have a few. Guiliano is another one who's highlighted as being a little bit special.

Having said that i don't see him as being any better than Huddlestone or Palacios.

Juninho, Alex, Sylvinho (Arsenal), Gilberto Silva, and there will be other examples. Those twins at the scum don't look bad either and Denilson at Arsenal isn't awful. It all comes down to mentality, whether they want to succeed and adapt. Many would, it's just that many clubs buy Brazilians when they are already 24-30 and have a certain mentality that can be changed if an English club gets them young. Like if we signed this Neymar, supposing Robinho hasn't fed him lies, he is 18 and could be molded into the English game.
