SSN - Bayern/Podolski

Im not with the brigade who say, if he's not good enough for Bayern, he's nopt good enough for us. Look at Bridge as an example of that. If there available, which lots of players wont be in January, and there better than what we've got, we have to be interested...

Havin said that, I aint seen a lot of him. does he play as an attacking LW, similar to Robinho aswell as a striker??

You never watched the WC 2006 or the Euros last year?

Deffo a good LW with a penchant for cutting in towards the goal and strike goals.

No thanks, not what we need at all.

so you would rather have jo and benjani. ffs he would be a great signing if got a lot off 1st team football under his belt.

It's not just about the quality of player though, its how they'd fit into the team. What formation would you play with Podolski? Because if he played lone striker in our current formation it would be like watching Jo again, another good player that is playing a role he is not comfortable with.

How could you even compare Jo and Podolski. Two different players - Mainly Podolski isn't shit and has an eye for goal. Jo is the worse peice of shit I've ever seen play for this club and for the price we paid. Fucking Sameras bagged more goals than that wanker!

Just because a striker is tall doesn't mean he can play lone striker in our 451. Jo has proved that. Podolski is the same as Jo in that respect, he plays best in a 442 with a striker that will play on the shoulder of the last man, and I don't believe that we can play that formation because Robinho couldn't fit into it. So Podolski wouldn't be a fantastic signing IMO.

Podolski isn't tall at all... Have you even seen him? He's much shorter than Klose and Toni.

Besides the point is - Toni is 31 so why should we buy a, granted quality, old striker who is arguably better than Podolski but he's only 23 when we can get a younger, more agile poacher? Though Klose would be absoloute quality buy but I don't realistically see him leaving the German Champions, mainly because Klinsman wouldn't let him go as he features greatly in their starting line-ups. The main reason Podolski dosen't play for Bayern is because he had a mini bust-up with Klinsman, very similar to the Elano case. Elano is obviously better than Vassell, so why does he play Vass instead? Podolski could easily get into the German side IMO, he could easily play LW or Attacking Midfield but his natural position is striker.

We should snap him up, and quick, to get him settled in the squad as soon as possible. He will flourish in the premier league if he comes IMO.

i think for the price podolski is a bargain. it would be a joke to pay what blackburn and west ham are quoting, get poldi and fat sam and wet spam can go fuck themselves

you can bet your arsehole that fat sam would take our £20m, laugh his arse off then go spend half of it on podolski

Well said bob. We should instantly call Podolski and give him as much as he wants to get him to come. A young prospect.

According to German papers Podolski is on his way to Hamburg. There he will replace Olic who has already signed a contract at Bayern. Both clubs are in Dubai this week....
