No mate, I have to disagree. The defence has to be addressed if we are to compete with the top four. If we were to add Maicon, Terry and Lescott to the squad before the start of the season, then we must have a great chance of ruffling a few feathers! Wouldn't it be great to see how one of the big four cope without the cash cow that is the Champions League? Chelsea would probably be ok, but United, Liverpool or Arsenal would be in deep shit without the income that competition generates!

I agree 100% with you. I just feel even if we had the same defence as last year, Buying these attacking players will make us concede fewer goals. But no i wouldnt mind the likes of terry or maicon.

I am convinced when going into these deals we are telling the other club to keep it shut or we walk away. Once we have a deal in place, we are then letting them release the story with their own little slant on it in an attempt to appease their fans.

We have told Laporta he can go public with it now.

So it seems that meeting a few months back was worthwhile after all ;o)
