Star Trek Trailer... Wow!

I belive Peter jackson is going to make the Hobbit after all. Is this true and when?

That's interesting!

I knew that Jackson was indispute with the film company (MGM I think) over percentage rights over stuff, so intially refused to direct. I thought Guillermo del Toro was doing it now, with Jackson writing or producing it. As far as I know pre-production has already started, and if it's anything like LOTR, then I reckon 2011/12, it'll be out.

I'll have a dig around though, just to check.

Am I a Trekkie??

Hmm... Dunno if I'd go that far, cos I wasn't a huge fan of the 'Voyager' series. I felt that lost it's way. What I did like in the original was the interaction between the main characters. I also liked 'New Generation' cos we had an aloof/ quintessential English gent at the helm(forgot the French sh*te) and it made for cool dissection of ensuing problems.

So, yes and no about my 'Trekkiness'!!

By the way, it's out in May 2009. Was originally Christmas 2008, but I knew that would be pushing it.

Ahh a man with sense, the problem for me with star trek voyager was Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway). As Sci-fi for me is for men very very thew women follow it so it is basially a type of show mainly for men like soaps are for women. And the producers broke the goldens rule by having Kate Mulgrew as captain. The captain either has to be someone to look up to and you want to be them or if there female you want to fuck them. I'm sorry but Kate Mulgrew is not someone i'd want to fuck and she sure as hell isn't someone i'd want to be.

It's hard to explain what i'm trying to get across but it was like you had a really good show and then they went and stuck your mam in charge of it which ruined it for me.

I kind of understand where you're going with that! But, for me, I hoped that if a awoman was to be a leader of ship, then she would be hard as bones and quite a formidable opponent. You know, shoot-you-if-she-has-to kind of thing, especially when you're lost in space! It had the chance to looser with the morals, when in conflict. Who would know, but the crew and they all wanted to get home, right?! That would've shook up the 'Star Trek' genre some.

Shame they backed away from that direction.

Just to confirm, Jackson has written it and produced it, with del Toro directing. He had his dipute with New Line Cinema and booked himself to film "The Lovely Bones" and Spielberg's produced "Tintin". "The Hobbit" started filming this year, with original release date due for 2010(LOL!!) and back to back film the year after.

So, all-in-all we are looking at 2011/12- 2012/13 projection for the films.

brilliant, thanks for that...cant wait. That trilogy has to be my fave films since The Usual Suspects whey back in the 90s. No other films have done it for me, I had high hope for the da vinci code but that ended up being a stinker, The Borne films have just about been the best it has got in my book since Suspects. But having said that I dont watch tonnes of films like you do.

Fair do's. I just happen to like my line of interest/ career. I do write too much about films, admittedly. There's quite a geekiness to it, I suppose!!

That would of been sexy ;-)
