Star Wars: Rogue One

Having only had 4 hours kip after I watched it at the midnight showing i'm coming around a bit now and remembering a lot of the little details and easter eggs which were really well done. The way the end of it stitches into A New Hope really is great.

One thing I'll throw out there to those who have seen it is

Who is the robed guy who kneels in front of Vader while he's in the Bacta Tank? I thought it might be Snoke from The Force Awakens but on the internet that got shot down I think by someone working on the film.[\SPOILER]

if I remember rightly in ROTJ the emperor had his hangers on, probably devotees to sith, I think he may have been one of these fanatics.

after the original trilogy, then the prequel trilogy, there will be a sequel trilogy of which The Force Awakens was the first (Episode VII).

On top of that there are 3 stand alone films the first of which is Rogue one. There will also be a stand alone Hans Solo film and a Boba Fett film.

So another 4 at least :))

George Lucas has fuck all to do with it now but he saw Rogue One and apparently gave it a big thumbs up.

Also there have been hints of another trilogy after episode 9. Disney will continue to do this for many years to come, hell Star Wars world is opening in 2017/18 in Disneyland/world

ah, I seem to remember something like that too. I don't go in for these kids cartoons like Clone Wars and Rebels but I've read thoughts that he might be one of these "Inquisitors" they have on those shows.

Wow, that was epic!!

I didn't know what to expect initially. When the film was released at a Star Wars celebration a few years a go there was a mature slant on the reveal, rumours at the time suggested it was aimed at the adult audience and would be pretty dark. Last year there were then rumours flying round that the head of Disney told the director to tone it down a bit and to add some humour having watched a few scenes so I wasn't expecting a lot but wow, what an effort! I can't wait for the directors cut to see what was missed.

I loved the easter eggs or cameos in the film consisting of certain droids, notable pilots from A New Hope, those bear things from Bespin, R2D2 & C3PO. The ending made it for me as crazy as it was passing on the plans through the tunnel of doors whilst vader was hammering the Rebels. I was impressed with the CGI, was a great effort.
