Same goes for other signings, bringing in big guns doesn't mean that we should drop the players we have now just because we spend a lot of money.
Once it goes on form, not "potential" and nothing else than we'll do well. We can't afford to play players who are living on last season form, or because they have "potential."

Rotate the squad well and we shouldn't have a problem.

I personally think that there will no more than three deals happening in this window, we have been linked with only 2 real signings thus far with actual figures from the local press and both have been in Italy. The market is hyper inflated and the talent isn't necessarily as proven as previous windows.

I could see Tevez dropping back into midfield. Or a false nine 4-3-3-.

Silva is a true midfield Maestro. Often times in attack the deep lying playmaker slips back to cover the defensive wing. He'd tuck in front of De Jong as he and Yaya cover the backs so it looks more like this:

This would allow Baines to slip up into wide position where Silva vacates and Sanchez could tuck in. It highlights are attacking abilities and takes passing pressure of off De Jong.

I know we said we wouldn't sign Eto'o but the Italian press is reporting this is very much a done deal and might include Adebayor + 35 mil. Mirror is reporting it for 38 mil but thats mirror.
