He must be on a wind-up because it's nigh on impossible to live on £6000 a year in this day and age. Council tax, water, gas, and electricity bills alone would eat into well over half of that before you've even put any food on the fucking table!Are you on a fucking wind up?

Why should they downsize, they’ve paid into a system, saved and been savvy with their money, they shouldn’t be penalised because the people in power couldn’t run a piss up in a brewery or are lining their own and their mates pockets. I’m mortgage free, not a chance £6k stretches eBen been frugal, £2k for council tax, £1500 for utilities and thats been generous, plus food, I wouldn’t even be leaving the house, ye sounds a great retirement that.There's nothing stopping them selling up and downsizing if their only valuable asset is their house.
Nobody has a right to an inheritance.
Living off £6k a year is perfectly achievable if you're mortgage free which I am, I wouldn't even say I live a frugal life on that, prudent perhaps but not frugal.

Maybe if you gave us a breakdown of your expenditure people may give you a bit more credence. As it stands, most can't believe how you manage to exist without some sort of state benefits.There's nothing stopping them selling up and downsizing if their only valuable asset is their house.

Already one of the worst State Pensions in Europe and the Gov want to penalise pensioners again. They should look internally first at all the money they spunk being stupid and inept.
