BTW, I made Sterling my MOTM for the Newcastle game. I’m not anti-Sterling, never was, but as an example-pro forward, maybe I just see things differently than others....which is, of course, all IMO.

Should Sterling be on a par with the top earners (KDB, Sergio...) at City? Should Txiki give home the 5 yr, £15M per year, contract, as suggested on this Forum?

Probably because he understands that wide ranging skill sets are needed for his play. Mendy, and Walker are hardly the most skilful of players , but they can " run, run ;run"

You do realise they play on the same team. They bring different skills, have different faults ,weaknesses.

It must be a little confusing though, being a City, and not really wanting one of the players to suceed.
I think of him as an already elite player, with more improvement to come, I would never judge him against his team mates, but believe he complements them wonderfully.

There’s a fair bit of daylight between Sterling’s and KDB’s current packages.

If he has demanded parity (which appears unsubstantiated), chances are it’s an opening gambit.

People have put forward good reasons why we should keep him and why he should stay.

On that basis, I’d say there’s a good chance of a settlement that gives him a big rise but keeps the pay structure orderly.
