Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

If that's the case then I can see a deal getting sorted sooner than later. He's happy here and we're happy having him here. It'll get sorted.
Im not so sure theyll give him that mate
If City pay him 275 then Sane, Jesus, Bernado & co will want something similar, it ends up putting the whole wage bill up

If Sterling leaves and gets the same somewhere else, still they will expect to get paid around the same figure isn't it ?
Also right now none of them are as influential as him. If they become so, they'll also ask for it whether he gets it or not, they have all got agents :)

What salary is KDB on, I am probably wrong but I thought he was on £250k ?

That’s got “leak from Sterling’s camp” written all over it, and to Henry Winter too, so it certainly sounds a bit more positive.

I think City will be keen to get this done sooner rather than later as IF we can’t get him tied down we will be looking to shift him in Jan probably whilst his value is still decent.

Remind me of Ward's role in the Berahino saga. As far as I can recall his threatened strike action came after he had cut ties with Ward.

I find it quite interesting too that Liverpool are still willing to deal with Ward in signing Oxlade Chamberlain, if he was as bad as the Liverpool apologists made him out to be then surely Liverpool wouldn't deal with him again? It seems that bridge wasn't all that burnt.

As far as I can see there is no pattern of behaviour with Ward that suggests he will repeat what he did at Liverpool with Sterling, I'm happy to be corrected on that.

No idea about how Ward has conducted these negotiations other than what people on here are saying, but it definitely doesn't seem comparable to his situation at liverpool. He was pretty upfront from the start that he wanted to leave liverpool and wouldn't be signing a new contract and doesn't seem to be the case here.

The Berahino case was more to do with the player being stuck in the middle of a game of chicken between Tony Pulis and the WBA board. Very weird situation and not one you can blame on the agent.

I'm no financial expert but a £100k p/w increase would be about £5.2m increase in his wages. Seeing as we made £10.2m profit last season we'd basically be cutting our profit in half next season.
On the other hand a few sponsorships could cover this increase but we'd also run the risk of B,Silva, Sane and Jesus who are around a similar age wanting a similar increase in weekly pay

But if Sterling leaves it will cost a lot of money to replace him. He will have either 18 or 12 months left on his contract if he does leave so the fee we receive will not be over 40m imo.
