Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

Who will pay him more than what we are offering?

The only way he will get the wages he wants and massive pay day is leave on a free.

Be gutted of he leaves, he’s really starting to explode this past few months in my opinion. Aidy Ward’s probably using the rags wages as a yardstick which is going to be a problem.

How much is he worth, would love him to stay but if an agreement can't be reached he would have to go. Early days yet so let's hope it gets sorted. Think we still have to reach agreement with Jesus as well, how long has his contract got left?

As fantastic as he has been this season, i'm not too fussed about this, whether he stays or goes. Think he'll improve if he stays but if he goes, there's players out there as good as, if not better.
There is but he's home grown so that's an advantage he's got.

Want him too stay, no question. But it would be tempting for him to go considering the shit he gets.

But if he were to go to a club like madrid, their fans are brutal, and some of the misses he makes for us wont pass over as easy there as it does here.

Raheem has never hid that he wants to play abroad one day. He won’t be a here for 10 years.

I do think he will sign a new deal though.

I hate how these days how the media make out there are problems when new deals are being negotiated.

Fernandinho's contract took about 18 months to sort out. He didn’t get weekly updates though.

I hope City fans realise this is a long process and it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to sign unless he’s paid loads.

Considering how vital he was last season, I imagine we have no intention of letting him go. It's probably Sky Sports exaggerating a minor disagreement because they know that negative articles about Sterling get clicks.

Ask yourself this:
1) Where could he go where he'd be paid more handsomely than here?
2) Where could he go where he'd have a better shot at winning trophies while playing regularly than here?
3) Where could he go where his quality of coaching and chances of getting in the England side will be better than here?

I'd be baffled if he wants to leave. I assume Sky Sports are being Sky Sports again.

He does stand out in world football as a player who creates goals and scores goals in numbers much as any other attacking wide player - but on top of what he creates he misses a similar number and we are talking sitters here. That makes you think he could go 1 of 2 ways.

incredible isnt it. people ususally dont believe sky, but when theres a chance to offload sterling, suddenly its gospel...

nowhere in that story does it say he is looking to leave or we are looking to sell. we already new that he wanted to wait until the world cup.

city - we want to give you a new contract
agent - not yet
city - what would it take to sign now?
agent - ridiculous money
city - okay, let's wait til after the world cup
agent - leaks to press to put pressure on club. typical negotiating tactic.

I believe he will only become better at taking chances, especially those one on ones as he gets older. It is only the media coverage that makes me think he may be tempted to go abroad. There is no doubt he loves playing for Pep but the fact he has just said how the media coverage affects him sets off the alarm bells.

He is a tremendous footballer with a workrate and desire to get better as good as anyone. As the saying goes it is more of concern when you aren't getting in positions to score and the one thing you can never accuse raz of is hiding when he misses a few.

He'll sign after the World Cup probably. Just his agent wanting KDB type wages whilst his stock is high. If he has a great WC he might get them.
