Never Wenger's fault when they get beat, is it? Surely that has to be a worrying trend for Arsenal fans?
I truly hope the FA investigate this. If Sterling had dived I'd be amongst the first to say cut it out and teach him a lesson, especially after years of watching bird poo gob over the road.
But I don't think there is any way to prove sterling dives in this incident, there is certainly contact and the referee isn't looking to be made a big of at the end of the day.
I think therefore Wenger's comments are heat of the moment and born out of frustration at not winning, possibly also by the third goal looking offside and perceiving to decision to have taken the game away from them rather than pure footballing ability, but what Wenger fails to acknowledge is that they have an effect on a young guy, on those around him, and those officiating him potentially. For that he needs to be dragged before the FA and asked to explain, then punished accordingly.
Plus, also have to wonder why on earth Arsenal were linked with Rahmeen earlier this year, if Wenger has such a low opinion of him. Clearly the story was rubbish pushed out by a Gunner's mouthpieces and we'd never entertain selling him to Arsenal in such a situation, but happily it only makes Wenger come out of this looking like an idiot, scrambling to survive and blaming everyone else for his shortcomings.
