Steroids

After 18 weeks of waiting for a hospital appointment finally got seen on Thursday. I have got to take 40mg a day of steroids, bloody 8 tablets as they only do it in 5mg. Since starting them I have felt like death, aching, stomach cramps, headaches and now I cannot sleep. Just wondering if anyone else has or is taking them has any advice to offer as I can't see the doctor at the hospital until Tuesday.

I've had to take prednisolone a few times, and it gives me bad stomach pain.

Sounds like you should get to a doctor. But taking that many might give you stomach cramps, so you should maybe try get some Rennies and then maybe some Rabeprazole (like super medicinal rennies) from the Doctor. And maybe some codeine or paracetemol for the pain - probably not ibuprofen that could make the cramps worse.

Hope you get better mate.

Don't just suddenly stop taking them though, I think that's dangerous.
