Congratulations to a so-called failure whose Twente Enschede are now five points clear at the top of the Dutch League, well above PSV, Feyenoord and Ajax. Nice to see an English manager doing well.

Well said mate, fair play to the bloke. People are always gonna say that its a pub league blah blah, but he has broken up the big 3 and mashed on, a certain bloke did this in Scotland a few years ago.

its a poxy league nearly on a par with scotland

I think you are missing the point here.

Despite in your mind any league bar the premier league being poxy, to win the scottish league above Celtic or Rangers would be a massive achievement. In Holland there is the so-called big three, Ajax Feyenoord and PSV, to finish above these is also a massive achievement, especially at a club that has never won the league.

Fair play to him but never in a million years should he have been given the England job
Aaaaah, but the press was forcing the FA to get an English manager in, who were conveniently forgetting that it as a toss up between Shteve and the fat man.

No it wasn't!

What was Roy Hodgson doing at that point, because I'm pretty sure that if the FA had come knocking, he'd have found it very difficult to turn down the national job! Unfortunately, once again, the FA failed to show any vision or leadership, & merely appointed the first englishman they could find, the one already sat at FA HQ, due to his ties with the previous regime.

Steve McClaren may be a half decent manager in a league that nobody could argue is top class in the way that The Premiership, La Liga or even Serie A and The Bundesleague are top class! He may even do a decent job at a midtable Premiership team! But to suggest he's international manager quality is ridiculous!

And as for Rammy suggesting he'd have him at City, I can only assume you're taking the piss? Lets see how many shortlists he gets on when the top 4 start searching for new managers pretty soon, because I can tell you now, the answer will be a big fat ZERO! And if he aint good enough for them, then he certainly aint good enough for us!

He was Finland manager at that time.

Louis van gaal, rinus michels, bobby robson. They weren't bad managers either.

Good on McClaren, nice to see an English manager doing well abroad.

I imagine that he'll move to Spain next, as he's following the path of Robson. In a few years time, it's possible that we could be talking about McClaren as one of the best English managers in the game. In fact, thinking about it, there's already a shout for that.
