I don't like him but I can think of worse. Carlton Palmer, Geoff Thomas and Andy Gray spring to mind straight away.

Nope, I thought about them, and I dont remember watching them playing for England, and being quite so outraged, that I am an average Sunday footballer like Downing gets a game. In fact, I know players in my sunday league who I think are better that him!
