Stockholm

Gamla Stan is the place to visit, really nice old town area. O'Connell's Irish bar is in there, one of my favourite bars in the known universe.

I would get out on a boat and go and cruise up to see Birka , lovely trip and a great chance to see the remains of a Viking town.

But even ahead of that is Djurgarden , Skansen is amazing the buildings, the animals the pictures of Swedish life, the Vasa is one of the best historic ships you will ever see and it is a beautiful island to see, lovely walks.

Gamla stan is a real rarity in Western Europe a perfectly preserved centre rare in capitals all touched by war, great bars, royal palace and places just to wander.

I lived there for 6 months , I loved it.

I also liked wandering around sodermalm and just walking all around the city .

There are also great museums, go and see some sport, there is the hall where the Nobel prizes are awarded and various little nick nacks everywhere

It sounds like Gamla Stan and Sodermalm are the places to be. I won't have a great deal of time but hope to cram as much in as possible. I might also try and find myself a lovely wife whilst I'm over there. Every Swedish girl I've ever met is a babe.

Gamla Stan is great. Some lovely places to eat and drink there. Pizza, for some reason, is very good in Sweden. There's also a very old German restaurant there, bloody lovely food.

Get the boat to see the Vasa, huge old ship that overturned in the harbour back in the olden days.

Just for a novelty value, check out the ice bar.

Djurgarden is also very nice. (get a shirt)

The royal palace is a nice place to wander around.

Apart from that...go exploring. It's a beautiful place to just wander around in. Lots of good shops, bars and restaurants. Try not to get hit by a tram.

Enjoy mate.

Gamla Stan, Skansen, Nordiska museet and Vasa are all really interesting.

Also just a nice city to walk around in.

Their subway (tbana) has lots of cool stations like thorildsplan which is decorated with super mario and pac man.
