For once a very clever piece of management by Stockport. They are 13 points clear of relegation so, with a 10 point drop, they'll still technically be able to go down (hence making taking the hit now acceptable, if they were mid table and safe then they'd be forced to take the hit next season). I say technically because, for County to be relegated, they'd need to lose their last match to Birghton, Carlisle would need to win at hoem to Millwall, Hartlepool would need to win away to Bristol Rovers and Northampton would have to win away to Leeds. Even if all those results happen Carlislse would have to overturn a goal difference deficit of 18!!! It's mathematically possible, but realistically it's not got a hope in hell of happening.
