How does 'anybody' get hold of a football club's season ticket database to see where folk live?
You can get out in Salford precinct, take that Stockport.

I'm not sure heroin, crack, home-made porn, methadone, Diamond White and Greggs pasties are on everybody's shopping list.
Mine yes, but not everyone's.
You forgot offers of fellatio from toothless smackheads, although I'm sure that service would be available in Stockport.

Growing up in Hazel Grove (Stockport) in the 80's/90's City lads were always in a heavy minority. To put a figure on it, in my school 13/2 as a guess. That may have changed given recent events. Fast forward 2 decades and the mother of my kids (now Ex) is from Salford. A place where rag flags hang proudly outside bedroom windows. Although that may have changed now too. Remember when I was first with her and wanted to watch a match, went for a mooch to find a pub and tried 3, all packed with scum and the first with outright hostility. Ended up listening to the 2nd half on the radio (no wifi back then). Conclusion? Love Stockport because it's where I'm from. And those rag bastards get everywhere. Especially Salford. And Norfolk.

I can't believe that some people get so defensive about where they come from. I'm from Salford and will happily admit that the place is a complete shithole and the only good thing about the place is that its very close to Manchester city centre. Also growing up in Swinton I would say that a good 80% are United fans however the 20% of City fans actually go to the games and follow the club rather than jumping on the bandwagon.
I'd like to be a little defensive, a "complete shithole" is a bit of a generalisation. Certain districts in Salford aren't bad -Worsley and Ellesmere Park (although the people who live there don't like to admit they come from Salford), Monton "Village" ( LOL) is OK, the flash Quays with the BBC, the Crescent and University is quite impressive, so it's not all bad.

Worsely is quite a nice area to be fair especially near the old courthouse but my point still stands for the majority of Salford. Up until I left the area two years ago I lived in Swinton all my life and never considered myself as being from Salford. It was either Swinton or Manchester. Even my parents postcode said Swinton, Manchester, Greater Manchester and not Salford.

To be fair though Salford has got the potential to be a very nice city especially with the new Media City but years of poor planning has really affected the area. I mean the recent shambles was the road works outside the University, that was a nice waste of public money and don't even get me started on the development of Hope hospital.

I can't understand why Utd bang on about Citeh from Stockport etc etc, but have no issue with the fact that loads of their fans are from Salford.
The two towns are very similar in my opinion, both shitholes, both garbage town centres, both shit nightlife, both full of six fingered empty heads who wear clothes a bit out of date and both full of wannabe Mancs!
Is there a difference?

yes with your attitude you`d last about a minute in salford before someone dialed for the ambulance. 5 minutes in stockport

Sounds like the perfect venue for a stag do.

Salford is a city as pointed out by another gentlemen in the thread. It achieved this status before Manchester. If you're going to slag a place off in the manner you have done it's important to get your facts right.
Manchester gained city status in 1853, Salford in 1926.
