Stop Crying Your Heart Out Rodri Banner

Some of the banners have been brilliant over the years.
This one just wasn’t that funny. Like someone else has said, it would have been better to just have the picture with no words.
Let's be honest, The same outrage would have been caused with or without words on the banner.

Something like this shouldn't be causing conflict amongst our own supporters, It's ridiculous. We should be sticking together on this one.

We get absolute pelters from all angles whether it's in the media or opposition fans home and away, The amount of banners that opposition have had about us and we take it on the chin without any fuss being caused, That's football.

If you are prepared to dish it out then you should expect something back in return without crying about it. Our fans are sticking up for Rodri and have his back for all the disgusting comments made about him around the Ballon D'or time, These comments coming from "professional" footballers that's throwing tantrums like an 8 year old.

The media is making a far bigger issue of this than what it should be, People on here are falling into the trap too.

Unfortunately the media were given an empty net to slam into. Totally expected, predictable.

And the only manager in the entire history of English football* to have been a champion four times in a row.

*I've got a very slight hesitation about that. It seems possible to me that someone like the Corinthian Casuals might have been champions four times in a row in the 1870s, 1880s etc. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong. I'm certain that in the twentieth century it wasn't done.

Oh, by the way, Pep won the CL twice with Barca as manager. He never won it as a player. Just saying.
I think if you check records Barca won the trophy in 1992 when Pep was playing for them, he is listed as being part of the team. Unless they didn't give him a medal.....

He definitely did win it as a player.

For me, Kindergarten level. For your laughs and entertainment only.
Not too smart, but deeply rooted in (English) banter mentality. So deep, you don't even seem to realize how childish it appears for non-English like myself.

If we want to be a top club we should be standing relaxed above those topics and NOT even mention them (agreed, the banner w/o any text would have had style indeed!). THAT would be superior and it would wind up Madrid fans and officials even more.
Instead we gave a helpful motivation. For a laugh.

Didn't decide the match but looks quite stupid after handing over the tie in repeated and unforgivable clownery. We didn't have the last laugh.

Just my view offered, in respect.
I know you will do it again next time.

It's a shame you feel this way, but as you say it's British humour and I can't imagine many are losing any sleep over it. Most international supporters probably won't know the line 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out' is a song from the Manchester band Oasis. We're different from the foreign supporters and their Ultra type fans and I'm delighted about that.

If the banner prompted any motivation for Real Madrid they must be really poor at the moment as we only scraped past Leyton Orient a few days prior in the FA Cup. They pretty much fluked every goal like they usually do. Annoyingly we've probably been better than them for 6 or 7 years and only got past them twice. I was hoping that it'd be quite ironic how poor we've been this season that we may finally have the element of luck on our side for once. Evidently not.

Madrid needed calling out for their pettiness. They believe everybody should bow down to them. The fact that they boycotted the Balon Dor was pathetic enough. As if now attending was beneath them as they no longer had the main winner. They've had numerous winners over the years and were that bitter about another club getting their first. Awful sportsmanship. It was, however, more the Real's player's/manager's coming out and effectively calling it a robbery/racism and then the club itself coming out with their own ridiculous statement that irked me. Stating that if Vini didn't win then it should have been Carvajal??!!! So in their eyes Rodri was at best 3rd?!! Vini didn't turn up at Copa America and Rodri has practically won everything and been voted the best player in each tournament he's played in in the process. Ask any Spanish supporter whether Carvajal or Rodri is more important to them and I'm fairly confident of your answer. Completely classless. Fuck them.

Thought it was a bit lame tbh, particularly during a season where we've embarrassed ourselves weekly. With this kind of thing you can only sing when your winning.

Vinicius revealed that the banner gave him the strength to put on the best performance possible.
"I saw the banner," he told Movistar.

"Whenever the opposing fans do things like that, they give me more strength to have a great game and here I have done it.
"They know our history, everything we do in this competition.
"It is the fifth time we come here, it is always very cold, but this time we have won and we have to continue this."

The City striker restored his side's advantage in the 80th minute, but late goals from Brahim Díaz and Jude Bellingham completed a remarkable Madrid comeback.
Carlo Ancelotti believes that if the Brazilian saw the sign, then it would have motivated him to take his game to a different level.
"I do not know if Vinicius Junior saw that sign, but looking at the game, if he did see it, then it has been a huge source of motivation for him," he added.
"That is it, it is difficult to say.
"Today he was very dangerous at all times, as were our whole front four."

I liked it but hopefully we wont be doing it again.

I stand corrected. Quite some record — won it both as player and manager. How many others have got that record?

We were winning with four minutes left and gifted them two ridiculous goals. It had nothing to do with any banners. Vinicius just attention seeking as usual.

If anyone from 1894 is reading, please make a giant flag of this later in the season, before this little legend leaves us...

Agreed and especially this year when its arguably one of the biggest reforms of recent modern times? Oasis will have City flags on stage around the world and there is no negative aspect of that as millions of people wanted the band back together.
We won’t look back in anger…
