Stuart Brennan in the MEN

I really don't get all this empty seat crap. We are a business with aggressive growth plans, we are expanding the stadium without the demand being there, it's called forward planning. If we put a 3rd tier on the family stand we'll have an extra 6000(?) more empty seats, for now, and if we get 57,000 is it more fans or more empty seats? I think of it like a condom, you'd rather have one and not need one, than need one and not have one. Our fan base is now solidly above what is was when we moved in I would imagine, and growing. Would everyone be crying if we added a 4th tier on every stand and we had an 80k stadium? I wouldn't, as empty seats are not relevant to anything, other than idiot's like Wio. I'm happy we have empty seats, as I'm sure the top brass are... it means new fans can come and watch us which is exactly what they want and if the demand isn't there on a Monday night in the League Cup, when televised, I really couldn't give a shit.

I think that's part of the reason the rags and dippers go on about empty seats. They really don't want us to keep expanding the stadium. They know that we are growing and growing quite fast. An 80,000 attendance next Tuesday would have been a dagger through their hearts. If we were to take any notice of them, which we won't, we'd expand too slowly.
