I met a Glaswegian in Tignes this very month and he voted no last time. He said the abuse from the yes protestors was horrendous and he genuinely fears if there is another then it'd be worse.

Oh and he will actually be voting yes because of Brexit this time - which we calmly debated in disagreement about.

He shouldn't worry though as you will never have another one.

The funny thing is that film probably recruited half of the SNP deluded support and it wasn't even accurate.

The film came out in 95 in the 99 election they got 35 seats last year 63 46 % of the Scottish vote They also won 56 out of 59 westminster seats 50% of the vote, yes it was that 1995 film that did it because people in Scotland are too stupid to see beyond a Hollywood film from 22 years ago.
You have no idea why I and others voted no to independence yet vote SNP, because you wont look at them or their policies beyond your own prejudice.

I don't think magic is anti English. He's anti Westminster but there's not a lot wrong with that.

He believes in his call for independence as passionately as I and many others believed in our call for a leave vote. Again, nothing wrong with that.

I dont think he will get a referendum before brexit is final but stranger things have happened. Where I probably disagree (if I'm reading him correctly) is that he expects a hard brexit position from the EU but a 'soft indy' from London (assuming the Scots win a referendum).

If tough bargaining is correct from the EU then he should expect nothing less from London In the event of a vote for independence from our cousins and friends north of the wall.

For the record I have great admiration for the Scots. I despise the whinging about evil old England but am sensible enough to realise that many leavers said similar things about the EU during our campaign for 'freedom'.

If we do get it, I would want us to have a fair deal for all concerned. To realise that we haven't moved anywhere and need to still work together. Including defence etc.

There will be loads of problems we will both face and I don't think either could afford to act like twats which will only end with us fucking everything up even more than it will be already.

Far from certain we will achieve that as Project Fear will look to make it nasty.

We have had two project fears.

Indyvref 1 it worked.

Brexit it failed

Best of three

Indy 2

All to play for. :)
 
so.... potentially we have Indyref 2 agitating for the next 2 years.... whilst dealing with Brexit then at some stage trade deals and now Spain raises Gibraltar - Hitler failed to take heed of his own warnings about fighting on two fronts at the same time.........May could find this all very tough.

She just state that a 2021 referendum in 2021 will be part of her 2020 GE manifesto.

a) It will pull the rug from under SNP

b) There is very little likelihood of a Yes vote in 2021 (IMO)

She could do that but how will it look? She will be in there trying to be all goody two shoes and other member states will be like, you're fucking acting like a dictator to the people of Scotland who want to stay.

There is also the issue of delegitimising the devolved parliaments and making them, under Mayday Mayday's rule as a waste of time.

That will be a difficult position to hold for a government standing shoulder to shoulder with the spread of democracy.

The ref will happen and telling us we are not allowed to will anger more than just Yes voters.

Once the terms are known and submitted is the time. She is reluctant because if she has brexit and us fucking off with all the oil her arse and government will collapse. Fortunately it's only labour up against them so they will retain power under the rule of the bold Boris.

But there is simply zero chance it will happen before 2021. That has been made clear by the government. Any amount of banging on is just pissing in the wind.

The 95% don't give much of a fuck about your demands - indeed given that no SNP voter will ever change to Tory and actually maintaining her stance chimes with swing English voters ahead if the next GE why the fuck would your demands have any traction.

It is really quite amusing the way you bang on - a bit like "... I will scream and scream until I am sick.. .."

I'm simply responding to people making assertions they can't back up. I'm saying we will need to see what develops. May can say stuff that doesn't mean it happens. It means she wants it to. The practicalities of denying a democratic process will change that.
