Sturridge - Chelsea

I said before Christmas that if Hughes lets him go then that would be enough for me to turn against Hughes. Unfortunately for Hughes (or not, im sure my feelings are of no concern) that fact that we still have not won an away game in April, has already done that.

We will regret letting him go, big time.

A re-run of Dixon Etuhu IMHO, a young player learning his trade gets too big for his boots too soon and demands too much.
He could go on to be a quality player, but he most certainly isnt one yet, give him a basic contract of about £20,000 per week but performance related bonuses that if he ends in the top 5 scorers in the league he gets £X million, if he helps us qualify for Chumps league £x million win the league £xx million etc

That should keep him here and keep him keen.
If not them see you playing at sunderland or preston or fulham in about 3 or 5 years time.

He's alot better than that. Big headed bastard that he is, he will become an England player.

Hughes isn't letting him go. Unless you think that City should pay Sturridge (who has made five league starts in his entire career) over the odds to keep him, and doing otherwise is "letting him go".

At the same stage in his career Dixon was going to be the next patrick Viera though

According to the article you offered him a weekly salary of 60k.
I think he's already made his mind up to leave, he's on a promise, I think you'll see him at Villa.

Away at Boro they found him out, get him on his right foot and he can't do anything.

the club have offered hima very very good deal......if he doesnt want to take it there is absolutely nothingMH or anyone else can do about this.

MH has said he wants him to stay, offered him a very good deal.......sturrdige has turned it down by all accounts....on numerous occasions

I dont want to see him leave but to blame MH for this is ridiculous......the problem started before MH got here in letting his contract run so low on time....Sturridge (and his agent ) are in complete control of the situation.
If a player wants to leave the club are powerless

would be gutted if he went but if he does more fool him, he wont get a game and will be wanting out in 2 years time.
