Sturridge - Chelsea

Sturridge moving to Chelsea would be a stupid move, SWP was City's best player and an england regular when he went there and they ruined him.

Does he really think he's going to get games ahead of Drogba and Anelka? - if he does he's got his head up his own arse. Abramovich may be feeling the credit pinch a bit but you can guarantee he'll fund a world class replacement for Drogba, leaving Studge 3rd place again.

Chelsea would be the worst team for Studge to join.

In Sturridge's mind it's all about Danny Sturridge and nothing else, not the club, not his teammates and certainly not the fans. That's the impression I'm left with after watching him over the last two seasons. He's undoubtedly very talented but his attitude is questionable, if he thinks he's worth £50k a week good luck to him if he gets it but his injury record and performances haven't convinced me that City should be paying him that much yet.

Chelsea should have never have gone for SWP, he was never good enough, never will be, but it's up to these players to make the decision of whether or not they are good enough to compete at the top level.

If your talented enough make the switch, if you're not, be honest with yourselves.

Sturridge believes he is going to be one of the worlds best, Chelsea have shown consistently for years they're interested, and would do everythibg to give him the platform to reach his goals.

Some sink and some swim, Lampard, Terry, J.Cole were all able to compete.
Gerrard and Carragher are able to compete...

SWP had the ability to leave earlier, he chose to stick it out, you cannot blame Chelsea, for that. Robbie Keane left when things were not going his way.

If you are going to make the jump to test yourself, better do it earlier than later.

Tosser, apart from those three you named can you name 3 others who have come from the Chelsea youth team and cemented a regular place in the side? In fact your reasoning is bollocks, both Fat Frank and Joe Cole had >100 first team appearances for West Ham before you signed them, they were already established first team players. Terry is the only Chelsea youth player to make it in the Chelsea side in the last 10 years.

How many youth players have they given "a platform to" in the last few years - fucling none, can you name any youth team players who have been given an extended run in the side, even as a regular sub? If it does happen it'll be because Daddy Roman is cutting the purse strings. How is he going to "test himself" sat on the bench behind Drogba and Anelka, there is no way on this earth he is going to get more first team opportunities at Chelea rather than at City...........

When are these arseholes going to get it into their thick skulls, City are no longer a selling club and within the next couple of seasons will be competing for a CL spot. Money will do that to a club, just look at Chelski, rags, dippers - they have all spent 10's if not 100's of millions on players over the last 15 years - now it's another club's turn to gatecrash the pigs trough they call the Chumps League.

This, perfect summary - would like him to stay, if he leaves I doubt he'll fulfil his potential elsewhere.

Rubbish. The real reason that SWP didn't make it at Chelsea is simple. It's that he was signed by Kenyon, not MOurinho , and as such Mourinho despised him. Wenger was keen, and Wenger is a damned better judge of a player than Mourinho, or anyone else at Chelsea.

Or are you saying Malouda is better? HEHEHEHE! Give me a break!

SWP played moist matches in their 2005/06 championship winning team as Mourinhio tended to play 4 wingers in a lot of matches. However a lot were from the bench, and if he started he would not finish. He was playing more regularly towards the end of 06/07 showing his talent, and was the bes player in the 07 FA cup final, however it was Grant who really did not like him and towards the end of Grant's season he never got on the bench. One League winners Medal, a Community Shield, League Cup and FA Cup medal isn't bad.

If you'd have told me Sturridge was leaving for a nominal fee before ADUG took over, I would have been bothered.
These days things are different, and while I'd love to see a City team full of home-grown talent, It's no longer vital to the clubs existence.
If he leaves purely to get first team football, I'll hold my hands up and say fair play to him.
However I get the impression that it's more about money and ego than a desire to play football.
The fact that he hasn't signed a deal already speaks volumes. If it is about the money, 'fuck him' as someone has already said, no one is bigger than the club.

It would seem to me that Daniel is a greedy little f*ck, so I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. Let him run after his little pot of gold. I don't want a stumped-up little sh*t taking the p*ss out of the shirt (and the club) that I have worshipped all of my life. One very important lesson to learn in life is that you reap what you sow, so F*CK OFF STURRIDGE YOU GREEDY LITTLE WHORE - I HOPE YOU BREAK YOUR LEG IN YOUR FIRST GAME FOR YOUR NEW CLUB.

Don't get emotional.

SWP was substantially older than Sturridge is now when he made the move, and Lampard was disliked by his own fans at West Ham.

If you are good enough, it's possible to sustain a place at Chelsea, and there's a drive to give affirmitive action to English players that are of a certain quality, Mancienne, Cork and hopefully Sturridge will be part of our future for a long time.

From the games he has played this season the word lazy come to mind.
If he wants to go to Chelski for the fat pay cheque and just as much if not more time on the bench more fool him.
