"How about putting some of the 'stop the boats' energy and staffing into dealing with the backlog of asylum claims, or is the backlog deliberate policy in order to create a dog-whistle problem?"

Loved the fact that they said all benefits would be rescinded, basically kicking them out on the street.Apparently the civil servant in charge is well versed in Toryspeak:
"Accommodation is offered to refugees on a no-choice basis"
What a way with dealing with asylum seekers, by losing track of them. This makes the increase in fines for landlords and employers make sense.

Looking at the details it's like an open prison on a barge. Lots of people on board will go board will go onto the island, and into Weymouth looking for amusement.
When the causeway is closed the locals on Portland may well chose their own way of dealing with them, whilst Cruella looks the other way and blames the migrants for kicking off.

Well, apparently, they've been living the life of luxury in hotel rooms, according to plenty of bacon-necked twats interviewed on the radio yesterday, so, if they have to rough it in a tin box for a year or so, tough-titty.
