At the risk of stating the obvious in what is clearly an emotional topic, these (overwhelmingly young men) are not supposed to be migrants, they’re supposed to be people seeking asylum protection in the Uk that Greece, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Switzerland apparently could not provide them.

I am afraid there are plenty of precedents. I am sure these people don't think they are doing anything wrong. They are just obeying orders from a higher authority.

As for the government, they know they can extract support from their base. The harsher, the better. And anyone opposing them is a 'leftie'. That includes high court judges, lawyers, anyone.
