Multiculturalism was doomed to fail, because it's a lie.
There's a prevailing culture in this country, it's difficult to define, but it is very real, because if you're not part of it, you feel alienated, but if a dominant culture doesn't exist, there's nothing to be alienated from.
The one thing that pisses me off about the left more than anything else, and I speak from the left, is that it convinces itself that the right has the monopoly on lies.

The stupid thing is that you don't have to actually be gay to be persecuted for being gay. All it requires is for others to think you're gay. Presumably anyone who is gay still has to show that they suffer a specific and credible threat to their life because of it.
What always gets me about her is she's the home secretary. Yet she's constantly moaning that immigration is some huge problem. Well who's fucking fault is that? They do speeches like they're some small opposition party rather than the government of 13 years.

Culture is not static. It evolves. Nor is it uniform, it varies from region to region and country to country. Surrey is not Armagh.
There can be, and is, an overarching sense of ‘Britishness’ which can bind the whole, but still retain different cultures and beliefs underneath it. Say what you like about Britain, but it is remarkably flexible in absorbing different cultures and in return imparting a sense of ‘Britishness’ on them.
Braverman is of Indian descent, married to a Jew and is currently doing an Enoch Powell tribute act. It is simultaneously tragic and funny and what could be more ‘British’ than that?
