Who’s gone in the summer?

Whoever goes, we need to start getting good money for our players. Chelsea got stupid money for Hazard with 12 months left. We’re not a selling club, but if players like Bernardo, Laporte and Sterling are going, we should be getting £80m each, minimum. We’re going in for the likes of Kane, Haaland etc and need as much coming in as possible, to set a precedent we’re not pushovers in the market. Garcia on a free, Tosin for 2mil, making a loss on Pedro Porro, selling Angelino for 16mil when his CL performances warranted at least £20m. Needs to stop now.

All balances out though. For every Tosin at 2m there is a Harrison at 15m or Douglas Luiz for 15m. With all the loan fees Angelino is more like 20m and the same for Harrison. Ihenacho at 25m when he cost us basically nothing. This summer we are looking at potentially north of 50/60m for players who have never stepped foot on the pitch at the Etihad.

Then consider the service we get out of alot of our players. You cant argue with the value for money with Fernadinho, Kompany, Aguero, Yaya, Zaba, Hart, Clichy, and many more that we kept for practically all of their best years and then let them go.

We aren't going to make a loss on Bernardo, Sterling or Laporte. We have had 3+ cracking seasons out of them, their fees are amortized as well.

Chelsea got stupid money for Hazard you are right, but if we wanted to sell any of our superstar players we would have got the same a few years back most likely. We kept everyone and kept winning trophies, a lot more important than getting a big fee in.

Good post the Dec,puts things in perspective for a few of the fans who think we are useless in the outgoings game......we might operate differently, but a pushover we arent.

Cheers hah.

I get the frustration, I am sure many on here will come back with the Ibe and Brewster transfers etc but to be honest what can you do. We can't sell players for fees that nobody wants to pay. Ultimately we have done a fucking top job in the past decade, we have made mistakes sure but we have won a lot of games, set and broken records and won the premier league more than anyone and a few good kicks away from a CL trophy. As Khaldoon has consistently spoke about, we are operating at a superb level both as a footballing team and the CFG as an operation. No club in world football has the ability to develop players across the globe with the intention of either bringing them into the first team or making millions in transfer fees.

Liverpool and the Rags have a media machine that starts hyping their young British players well before they've ever played a senior game. I'd heard of Brewster years back as the next great English striker, these players already have a reputation that drives their fees up. It's the perception of "pedigree" coming from those clubs that creates an added value.

Liverpool "reluctantly" let Ibe, Solanke, Brewster etc. move on for astonishing transfer fees, with their new clubs thinking they've signed the next big thing.

How many people not familiar with City do you think know anything about Liam Delap or Cole Palmer?
