Sunderland Post Match

When under pressure and the ball goes out of play why does Joe waste a bit of time but then eventually boot the ball long. Sunderland seemed to always pick it up and come at us again ?

I get taking the sting out the game but not losing possession on most kicks, when most times he could roll out and keep ball in defence. He had another good game in the saves he made but the choice of kicking needs reviewing.

Judging by what MotD served up I thought the second half was more akin to the Siege of Lucknow!

Funny how City are a one-man Sergio band and Vardy scores one of the goals of the season?? Leicester have well below 50% poss. I wonder if their accumulated points have been accrued in the manner we saw last night - a hoof from the back upto Vardy and a hoof and hope and bingo GOAL OF THE SEASON!

That and Vardy taking a few tumbles to ensure a couple of soft penalties.

The passing stats from the defence pretty much tell the story tbh.

Joe Hart- 41.7%, 23 long balls, 4 clearances
Sagna- 77.1%, 5 long balls, 4 clearances
Otamendi- 74.2%, 7 long balls, 13 clearances
Demichelis- 77.1%, 4 long balls, 9 clearances
Clichy- 51.4%, 9 long balls, 3 clearances

That's shocking tbh, absolutely shocking. We lost the fight in midfield and just resorted to hoofing it

That got Vardy his GotS last night!!

442 vs 451 is usually going to lose the midfield battle - neither first half front man is likely to mix it with an Allardyce side.
