Hope he is not as financially up the creek as this makes it sound - he has been through a hell of a time in recent years.

Was told a few weeks back he was still pretty down.

Will always remember his goal against United, subsequent celebration and saying he wished them no luck in a European game the following week.

Would be nice of the club or the former City players association might be able to help him out - coaching with kids or something at least.

We certainly need a decent defensive coach.

Top Bloke.

why we played Redmond, and got rid of him back to blackburn still defies belief... Him and Curle would have been good together.....

i loved colin hendry, but with the best will in the world someone who once earned a million pound a season really shouldnt be needing anyones help, most people dont see that in a lifetime.

Yep. Can't see my previous company who I gave 20 years to, for nothing like a million pounds over that period, helping me out.

Correct me if I am wrong but,

I seem to remember reading that the medical expenses and subsequent legal case against the Doctors involved with the plastic surgery to his wife that went tragically wrong are the main reason for Colin facing financial problems.

Hopefully this will be sorted out. All the best to Colin and his lovely family.

Feel sorry for him. It's ok earning a million but if you spend it all on legal expenses and medical fees it still goes doesn't it?

Was always a wholehearted player...

But it's not City's responsibility to be helping him financially. It would be Blackburn I think who would do anything...

I'm no expert in this but from quick reading I've established that although he wasn't on the vast sums of money like prem players are in the majority of his career when he eventually went to Rangers he was earning £1mil per year.

His mansion is worth over £1mil aswell.

His wife recieved £300,000 in compensation.

Something just doesn't work out... if he was in that much financial dissaray anyone with common sense would have that kind of house sold within an instant and a simple downsize... shit if I die in a house thats worth £200,000 i'd be happy nevermind an house thats worth 5x that.

Wheres the 300k gone? spent? anyway he has a 1mil house, sell that and go buy some council flat in glasgow for £25,000

The more money you have the more money you spend, I can see it now... Players like stevie Ireland when they are in their late 40's having nothing left except overpriced minging cars because they blew it all on fast women and fast cars....

Where the sensible ones such as Michael Owen are rolling in it with sound financial investments... Shit Beckham flogging perfume for £55 a bottle.

Not sure how true it is, but some articles claim he has suffered heavy financial losses through gambling.

AMaybe being a bit harsh here but the guy has clearly been silly with money. Earning up to £1million a year at Rankers and hes in that much debt. Seems like somethings not right.
