I am probably going full circle but the farce with this scheme is:
The majority of those who have been offered it 6k plus points could get a ticket for any away game with out this scheme so why introduce it?
Yes add added incentives for people to increase there points but only by offering more points for the less attractive games (Brum away during the week) Fulham away on a sunday when live on sky etc

if you went to every game this season, which included 21 cup games, you would have spent 1800 quid approx, city are looking to cash in on the balance.

there is no reward, just an angle to get even more cash out of loyal fans.

it will backfire, because they are in very real danger of actually alienating the most committed supporters.

city have been blinkered by pound signs, and forgot what loyalty is about, all our group think it is dreadful and every one i have spoken to thinks it is dreadful.

If they are making about 700 quid on a thousand superbia tickets what difference is £700,000 going to make in the big scheme of things when they are in the market for £30,000,000 players? I just dont see it as "cashing in" - I cannot see what they hope to gain by doing it but it is not cashing in - QPR is cashing in.

Been invited but no way am I doing it, would have considered it if I had the 2.5k spare but got barely enough for my ST. Not bothered really, everyone I know isn't doing it and if they sell these to people with lower points I, and everyone else, will be fuming. Loyalty shouldn't be bought, I have been to 90+ away games over the last 4/5 seasons and just because I'm not in a position to fork out 2.5k in one hit doesn't mean I'm not loyal. And no way is someone with 2.5k burning a hole in their backpocket and only a hamdful of points is more deserving of tickets than me. As many have said, this paying for loyalty thing stinks and sadly, IMO, is a sign of things to come. In 3 years time the 'normal' fan won't be able to afford city

As the vast majority of others, I have declined the offer to join this scheme as I dont have a spare 2.5k lying around (never had!). Personally, I don't see how it actually helps the fans, I've spoken to the club about out it, and expressed my opinions in writing. Good luck to those who can afford it btw, nothing would give me greater pleasure to see them get their 2 and half grandsworth out of it.(as it would mean another successful season for City) But reality means Gold for me, I need the £50 platinum are charging for that QPR ticket....
Out of interest, not long after Garry Cook joined City, I was privy to a conversation he had with some men in suits, and he was explaining how the corporate side of City was so far behind the Arsenal, Chelsea's and United's in terms of of what they could charge fans for executive boxes etc.
Will be watching closely to see how it all pans out, and look forward to bumping in to all the usual suspects next season (providing we all get tickets...) - Sean - ctwd :-)

Think they really bumped up prices for them last season, bloke I know has a few corporate tickets in one of the lounges, the increase last season was in the range of 20%.
I'm nowhere near a Superbia ticket, but unless everyone's missed something in terms of what it gives it just seems overpriced. Guess if it included travel to the domestic games, including same train as the players where appropriate, it might be more attractive?

Or do you devote your life solely to living hand-to-mouth to afford your city away days [and if this is the case, fair play to you but I personally think that's an odd decision to take].

Yep, that's me! lol! :-)
(with considerable assistance from my better half to fund it also)

-- Fri May 27, 2011 1:51 pm --

agreed - I reckon its a grand over priced, and if the deal had seen City fans go over the £1500 mark, surely they could have implemented a pay as you go from that point onwards? That would certainly have been seen as a fan friendly initiative by the club imho

loyalty points were the carrot for the more attractive fixtures, or the more obscure games, the ones with the small allocations etc.

so when you were trailing down to portsmouth on a saturday 5.15, or middlesbrough on boxing day, or brighton for a league cup game, and loads more like this, part of you did it, because one day, you hoped your "loyalty" would be rewarded.

when you are one of only 900 city fans at villa, because we havnt won for weeks, or scored a goal at home for months you are there because you are dedicated, willing to go that extra mile to watch the team when the easy option would be just to sack it and save your money, but you go because you have pride in your club, and you are earning your loyalty points the hard and proper way.

when we drew midjettland away, and we only had 600 tickets, it was a relief to know that all that effort, expense, time and dedication was going to be rewarded, now who knows.

the first time i miss out on tickets because of this dreadful money is god offer, will be the day my desire to trawl the lengths of the country will diminish forever.

we have been sold on the loyalty points scheme for a decade or so now, does all that effort now count for nothing, when in truth it should now be reaping it's reward.

its time for the club to come out and tell us how many they are selling, and if so what happens to those of us who cannot afford it, but easily have enough loyalty points.

In a nutshell, spot on, speaks for many of us I feel...........ctwd

we all got one but there is not a cat in hells chance we can afford 7500 in a lump, not sure i'll fall for going to an away game in the league cup again either, the west brom game was the lowest point in the season for me, liverpool ran it close mind.

I don't really see the problem here.

Buy a season ticket for access to all home games and you get an initial bonus of 1000 points.

Buy a package that includes home games, aways and cups etc and you get an initial bonus of 2000 points.

The slice of the away ticket pie is getting smaller and smaller.

One slice for you corporates.
One slice for you Superbia.
One slice for you OSC's.
One slice left for the rest of you to fight over.

As others have said, it would make a refreshing change for Cook and the other people behind this idea(Gold , Paltinum and Superbia) to come out and explain the thinking behind it, and why loyalty can now be bought instead of earned at City.

I won't hold my breath.
