superbia package-major flaw

It's sad really, the working class fan has put up with years of shit and suddenly we are successful and we have to pay over the odds to goto the 'big' or 'exclusive' games. It isnt what football is about. It's part of the high/pop culture debate. Football is part of popular culture. Prices should stay as low as possible

The ordinary football fans agree with you, sadly the football industry doesn't. Money is what matters, we're not to blame for this though, you need to look across town for those that started it, ironically it may well end up biting them very hard in the arse once souralex f*cks off.

if we draw plymouth away in the cup next season some of the "superbia" will get a ticket but not go

it's official touting like 'club wembley'

they'll be selling them on here at a profit, and they will get the points not you

Yes, it's exactly the same principle as Club Wembley, and look how often seats are left empty there for less important games even though they're paid for.

Trying to pretend that City fans are basically like American Express holders and can be divided and defined by card colour according to current credit rating and spend....is absolute fucking bollox of the highest order. Having this top tier is self-defeating in my book as it just exposes the myth that 'gold' and 'platinum' have some sort of value.

It's the price of success and the more success we have the greater the appetite for tickets is going to be. And this is only the start. It's 2 and a half grand now to join the Superbia club for the season - what will it be in 5 years time if we are successful beyond our wildest dreams?

People with the readies will be an attractive proposition. Money talks - we all know that.

People with the money tend to have it as they are no mugs.

That is why the take up may struggle for this.

If opting out means I miss the utd away match, then it may be a bonus.

i think what you all seem to be missing when you talk about it could eventually be offered to people with say 3000 loyalty points , is that it will be less appealing to them they have 3000 points for a reason and that is whilst they may go to some away games they can not for whatever reason being money, family or work go to them all so they wont fork out £2500 on the back of going to a few away games

I don't necessarily agree with this, firstly I don't think anyone would make a profit from a Plymouth ticket! Most of those asked to join superbia will have attended those types of games this season anyway like notts county, leicester away. Secondly those that have been asked to join superbia have been asked due to the numbers of games they attend away and in the cup competitions not just last season but consistently over a couple of years. That is what I am picking up from those that have received their letter off this forum.

The real worry for me is that I think these tickets are at least £500 too expensive for what they are offering based on figures produced by fans who did attend every game last season. The main worry is whether the uptake isn't that great will they will be offered out more generally. If that happens I can see the above happening where the rich buy superbia tickets and cherry pick which games they go to and selling the rest. The superbia ticket is relatively cheap for this type of person especially when you consider you can pay nearly 2k at arsenal just for a season ticket to watch the 19 home league games.

The latter is my main worry with this scheme, if those with superbia membership have a past history of attending regular away games in the league, cups and Europe then I don't really have much of a problem with it. If anyone can call up and buy these memberships then that is a backwards step and really does favour money over loyalty.
