Home or work, well mostly home these days.
I'm sure they rarely get any recognition from us the public, so I'd like to say what a brilliant job they do.

I finished work at 12 tonight, and thought I'd call in at a 24 hour store on my way home, I didn't even park my car there, as the queues looked hideous, so I carried on to my own town, and visited the store there hoping it wasn't the same, luckily it wasn't, quite a few still shopping at 12:30am, but not mad busy.

However there was an absolute army of people restocking, all very friendly, chatted with a few on my way round, one lady had been working since Friday afternoon, and whilst she had been home to sleep and eat, she said she was shattered its been that busy, and had only been home for a few hours sleep each day, I'm sure she's getting the money for it but it's still a great effort.

The store itself looked like it had been raided, but there were racks and racks of new stock being put out, I've never seen so many staff in this store, when I normally go in, I usually think they could do with more, but not tonight, there were probably a hundred working their arses off to refill the shelves.

I only normally visit the store during daytime in "normal" times, and I was absolutely shocked at the empty shelves (seen the pictures obviously), but in every aisle they were refilling those shelves, and if you wanted something they were happy to go find it for you.

Thanks to any of you that post on here.

I agree,i have often gone at this time of night in the past and it looks like a bomb has hit but but they will find you anything,i think they like talking to people, i think at the monent and the near future that if you can then go to the 24hr ones

It is pretty mad at the moment I have to say. I used to work in store operations for a good number of years before moving into the Property side of Retailing. I try not to forget my roots which is why I have always had full admiration for these guys who do flog their bollocks off to make sure we get everything we need.

I start a new job in a couple of weeks at one of our largest supermarket brands and I was chatting to my new boss yesterday. He was telling me that there is absolutely plenty of supply out there and people just need to calm down a bit. It's been like a non stop Christmas he said, but normally at Christmas it stops. Whereas now, he explained, its unnecessarily a continual rampage.
