Supporters Club tickets

The Platinum system was, and still is, simply fraud. Charging you £50 for the benefit of additional 'loyalty' points with no tangible product or benefit. If Trading Standards ever looked at this, I reckon it would go the same way as the banks miss-selling of credit card and loan insurance.
Correct. That's the real scam.

I hold my hands up here and say that I passed my ticket on quite a lot last season. To a young lad who is a Cityzen (or whatever they’re called) whose grandparents sit behind me, and to my own family members, again with the membership including my 6 yr old great-grandson and my Canadian daughter in law. I am not apologising for it because at the beginning I put it on the exchange but I didn’t know who it was getting my seat then.
When I say passed it on, the young lad’s grandparents insisted on paying me for the ticket. I know that lad loves City and will be a fan all his life. I also know that the family members are City through and through and d-i-l had a season ticket for years before she went to Canada in 2000.
It was either that or let my seat go empty because sometimes I didn’t know until the day or the day before whether I would be well enough to attend.
So the ‘passing on to a mate’ may not always be suspect or whatever but a necessity.
As I say I make no apologies I’ve done the hard times and I was not prepared to risk losing my hard earned season card because I couldn’t make the matches!
Don’t worry, all things being equal I’ll be back for the Newcastle game!! Without anyone’s help for a ticket but my own perseverance!! :-)
JMHO

I wouldn’t feel any need to explain yourself, let alone apologise.

There isn’t a single person on here who if offered a ticket to a game they desperately wanted to attend, would turn it down, because other people were more “deserving.”

The worst thing to do mate is put it on the seat exchange, enabling the club to sell on to a tourist for three times what they paid you for it.

Our branch was only allocated 11 tickets for Burnley and 16 for Sheff Utd. We usually take two coaches to each and have over 600 members. Gone are the days when the club would ring the sec and ask him to rally round and try and sell more tickets to away matches.. only 6 or 7 years ago too. We are assuming that many more tickets are being made available to corporate and foreign fans.

Some of us haven’t been alive long enough to go to the biggest away or European games, despite holding season tickets for 15+ years. The supporters club I’m a member of enabled me to go to the UCL final this year and celebrate with my local Manchester based community who I drink with every week or so before the football. I’m biased, but I fully support that.

I can see why people have issues with overseas supporters’ clubs getting any sort of priority though - for example, the Indonesian “Jakarta Blues” who I believe got their full allocation for the UCL final. There must have been Manchester based season ticket holders, or ex season ticket holders, who are lifelong blues and didn’t have the points to qualify and lost out in favour of overseas supporters who, more often than not, came along after 2008 (and probably more recently).
The Jakarta Branch didn’t get any tickets for the UCL Final. It was the ticket request screen shot that was shared widely (that had approved on it) Their ticket request was rejected.

They were there, we met them in Takeim square 48 hours before the game, they were wearing half light blue and red scarves celebrating their origin, I guarantee someone else will verify this
