surprising news about shirts...

Was told by staff of the City shop in town this week that all shirts barring the home are being discontinued. In their words they've all been 'extremely slow sellers', and there are no plans for the club to order more. Especially surprising considering that most of the more popular mid-range sizes are now sold out.

The black shirt was limited edition anyway, was it not, but i'd have thought the third strip would've been extremely popular? Can understand why the goalkeeper shirts might be slow sellers, don't see many old heads wearing them, but surprised with the others.

Spent over £90 for 2 shirts, didnt fancy buying another for £40.

Really? I was just looking at the third shirt yesterday but they didn't have it in my size (or just about any size)....figured that might be it but if they're sold out I don't see why they're not stocking up on them. Especially the third shirt - we've only used it once and have at least a couple of more games to go with it.

I bought all three while we were visiting in September, but I dont think the club have done themselves any favours in cutting the big retail chains out of the loop.

If City get them in JD, JJB etc, they will sell - not everyone who is a blue can get to the City stores, and people are naturally sceptical of buying over the net without being able to try stuff on. I had to go and change mine on the day we flew back over cos (being a thick **** and thinking I was thinner than I am ;) I had got the wrong size.

The third (sash) was supposed to be the limited edition one. I thought the black one was brilliant when I saw it "in the flesh" (so to speak!).

It begs the question is this kit only here for this season then? If it is then I can understand them not making anymore, they tend not to get anymore in after Christmas anyway do they as they start to lower the price do they not?

I can't see it being anything unusual actually but if we're only using it for one season I'd be a bit disappointed.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it was just the store in town as it is quite small anyway but the store at the Stadium is big so I can't understand why they'd stop selling them there. Luckily I have my black shirt anyway and I think it's great, my home shirt isn't going to be worn anymore as it's signed now and I wouldn't chance ruining it.

Bought the blue one and the brilliant 3rd strip but didn't think much of the black kit.

I've got the home shirt.

I rarely want all shirts from a season to be honest. This is the 1st season in a few years I've even wanted one shirt but there you go.

I would own all 3 but the website and store have been sold out of my size in the away kit and 3rd kit since day one.
