"Suspended coffee" ...... any "givers" or "takers" to this latest scheme ???

Its an interesting scheme although I'm sure a few of he poncier coffee shops wouldn't really want the "takers" type in their shops ?

thoughts ?

I think it's a great idea. I don't drink hot drinks or even visit these kind of establishments but if I were to do so, I'd stick a few on.

They aren't going to regulate this either, so anybody could claim a coffee.

It'll be open to abuse from cheapskates and penny pinchers not those it's deigned to benefit. Mind you I hate the 'latte lapping' culture we now seem to have, queues of lemmings scratching outside starbucks for their £3.50 fix of caffeine. No. I'll stick to the green tea thankyou very much.

it's a good idea but i'd like to see the coffee shop forfeit their profit on the free one. Why should they make money from other peoples charity.

What's if I do it and spill mine on the way out. Will I be able to get my 'suspended' coffee back, or will some scruffy student type get it?

I see.......

Fuck that!

The daily trip to a local coffee shop may give you your caffeine fix - but thanks to a new scheme, it could also give you a chance to do a small good deed.

The idea of "Suspended Coffee" is simple: When you buy yourself a coffee at a participating cafe, you also pay for a second one - which can then be claimed by someone who cannot afford it themselves.

They don't have to "prove" anything to claim one, but the scheme relies on the good faith of everyone involved.

The movement has been growing in popularity since it began in Italy several years ago, and has already been embraced by hundreds of coffee shops around the world. Now Starbucks has announced it will soon be adopting a version of the scheme.

mugs

of coffee?

If you're in the north east come to our community garden. We'll give you free coffee, tea, herbal tea, as much as you want. We even lay on a communal lunch spread.

If starfucks were concerned about charity then they would pay their tax.
