Would you swap Martin Petrov for David Bentley??

Its been reported 'Arry wants to make a move for Petrov in the summer but, its also been reported a swap deal would be on the cards if Hughes was willing to agree. Petrov has been great but he is getting on a bit(For a winger anyway) and he only really performed against lower opposition when he did play. Undoubtfully Martin IS a legend but according to some Bluemooners on here hes a miserable bastard so he'll have a negative effect in the dressing room. So would you be open to a straight SWAP?

I certainly would. Bentley played some great stuff under Hughes at Blackburn. He'd be great cover for shauny and he's English which is a bonus(The new English squad rule...forgot what its called now)

Tricky one, although you'd think swapping a player who went for £15m last season for one we paid £4/5m for, who'll be in the last year of his contract, and who's missed pretty much the whole season through injury, would be an easy decision.

Bentley 5 1/2 years younger - 26 assists in his last two seasons at Blackburn.

Guess it depends who else we are going to bring in and whether the coaching staff are concerned that Petrov's injury has had a significant effect on his speed.

Does anyone know if Bentley's ever grumpy? ;)

That's a yes from me , due to the reasons bluenova states and that Hughes seemed to get the best from Bentley at t'rovers.

David "I'm the next David Beckham" Bentley is a sulker, he did nothing but moan at Blackburn and always thought he was the best in the team. Always showed up thinking he ran the show etc. Up his own arse so to speak! Maybe the *Bump* at Spuds though will have made him appreciate what he actualy has more?

No. Simple as Petrov = Good and Bentley = Overrated.

If Petrov is to leave and Spuds is the destination, I'd much prefer us to be taking to them about Huddlestone or even Woodgate, Bale or Pavlyuchenko. Bentley would struggle to get in our first team with a fully fit SWP ahead of him on the right and we need reinforcements in other areas more urgently.

Nah, wouldn't swap. Petrov by far the better player and more suited to the type of game I want us to play.
