- 3rd place (if they make it) play Belgium in Seville.
SWEDEN v POLAND
KO 17:00 (BST) at the Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Capacity 50%, approximately 34,000 fans.
Coverage begins at 16:15 (BST) on ITV 4. No information on the guide.
Referee: Michael Oliver (ENG)
Sweden must win for the easiest possible game and Poland must win to make the last 16. More motivation for Poland than Sweden but I expect this to be a tight game. Neither team have really shown attacking dominance. Sweden are only 1 of 3 teams yet to concede along with England and Italy but they’ve also only scored 1 goal. Poland have scored twice but they’ve been pretty average in both games, though they did battle to get a draw in the last match against Spain.
Goal scorers so far:
Karol Linetty (Poland & Torino) – 1
Robert Lewandowski (Poland & Spain) – 1
Emil Forsberg (Sweden & RB Leipzig) – 1
SLOVAKIA v SPAIN
KO 17:00 (BST) at the La Cartuja in Seville, Spain. Capacity at 30%, approximately 18,000.
Coverage begins at 16:15 (BST) on ITV 1. Presented by Mark Pougatch, analysis from Gary Neville, Ashley Cole and Eni Aluko, commentary from Clive Tyldesley and Ally McCoist.
Referee: Bjorn Kuipers (NED)
A draw will be enough for both teams to go through but Spain won’t want that as it means they’ll be playing Belgium in the next round, albeit at home. A loss for Slovakia probably see’s them become one of the unlucky 3rd place teams. Slovakia have been average and Spain should have enough to beat them but they’ve been poor in their first 2 games. They have to find a way to start scoring goals.
Goal Scorers so far:
Milan Skriniar (Slovakia & Inter Milan) – 1
Alvaro Morata (Spain & Atletico, on loan at Juventus) – 1
Own Goal (Slovakia) – 1
