The Spaniard is now the only recognised left-back in the Blues squad with Bridge sidelined for at least a month following a hernia operation, though Pablo Zabaleta, Joleon Lescott and Gareth Barry have all prove they can adapt to the position if needed in recent weeks.

Garrido?
Cunningham?

He's still there or we'd have heard about it.

To be honest I think the club are going to line him up with a coach role after this season.

What I cant understand is that Bridge played at chelsea for about 75 minutes then had fortnight off then plays for 20 minutes at Sunderland beore going off for month with a hernia. I have to ask did this hernia come all of a sudden at Sunderland or if it was known about why did he not have the operation just after the chelsea game then he would only be missing for two weeks.
Maybe hernias just come but I always thought that they are there for a while and players tend to play with them until the best time comes for an op.
Am I missing something

the thread is having a dig at whoever is saying we only have garrido. sylvinho is still there. panic over.

Sometimes a hernia can come along very quickly and sometimes they aren't so bad that a player can manage it. Brdige was fine after the Chelsea game but cut training early on the Friday before the Sunderland game.It was obviously hoped it wasnt very bad but got aggravated in the Sunderland game and the decision taken to operate on the Monday after.

Thanks for the explanation,
am not a medical person and thankfully have never had an hernia.
I remember the original nellys left foot with great fondness

obviously i didn't mean he had left, but whoever wrote that article obviously got it wrong, how can they forget about sylvinho?

Sylvinho has left?

No he hasn't.

Has the OP confused himself? Because he's certainly confused me!

The official site seems to have changed the wording the OP posted. It now reads:

The Spaniard is one of three recognised left backs in the Blues squad - along with Sylvinho and Greg Cunningham - and with Bridge sidelined for at least a month following a hernia operation is determined to get the nod form the manager.

A tad pedantic, but surely it should now read FOUR recognised ....

or three other...

:o)
