The ball bobbled away and it looks like he tried to adjust at the last moment to block it, missed the ball completely and landed right on Van Persie with both feet. I don't think he went deliberately into the player with both feet though, it was just a very strange way to try and win the ball. Booking, maybe even a red depending on the context of the game. No need for any kind of witch hunt though.
