But it's a risk. I think we should go for proven players before we have a massive squad mostly made up of guys that couldn't cut it at the top. I hate to use them as an example but the rags made one big signing, a proven guy and it put them up a notch . Gettin guys that play well in Ukraine at this point of the season won't help us a great deal IMO. We need one or two that play in top leagues at a top level that can make an instant impact. Save guys like this for the summer IMO .
 
i've seen some clips of him and he looks a very good player. he is fast and a very good dribbler. but i would sign him just for his name.
 
If Brazil have given out all these caps in the last two/three years - I cant remember the actual number but its excessive; how come he hasn't got one?

A big percentage of those will be players from Brazilian clubs though, they play the odd match where they don't involve the European based players.

Hughes spent millions on "proven" players, Adebayor, Kolo, RSC to name but a few and look how that worked out. Two of the league's current top scorers Michu and Ba were relative unknowns when they came to England.
 
I don't believe it for a second but I'd love to get him from under Chelsea's nose just to piss them off.

Don't get me wrong. There are bargains and hidden treasures out there but all I'm sayin is that I don't think we're in the position to risk these type of players .we're behind by seven already and need proven top players.
 
If the stories are true I don't think we have any intention of buying him... I think this was simply a matter of "playing" Chelsea in the transfer market... bidding up Chelsea's expenditure or maybe making Chelsea want to buy this player even more now that city is interested... I'm not sure, but I am positive Txiki is playing them.

Chelsea are absolutely building a team around Pep, to what he would like, bulking up the midfield. Is there for everyone to see.

I am sooo pleased we have Txiki and Ferran running the show especially transfers and building the team... you can see the stark difference between last year trash from other teams i.e. milan, munich, napoli etc... and this year... Most teams are not bad mouthing us now that we are Champs and have these 2 heavyweights here now...

I'm sure Taison won't come and its probably just a ploy.

More like the player's agent's ploy.

If we buy anyone I think it will be a young player for the academy or a loan if anyone else gets injured.

From now on, if we buy we should jusy buy the very best. We can't afford to fritter away funds and wages on lesser players

Aye i doubt it'd be something we'd do, because then they could just fuck us right back in the arse for our targets. On the whole it'd be an entirely fruitless endeavor for both clubs.

Could add to the speculation with Fernandinho, but I am thinking that this is more of a squad boost for Shakhtar.
 
Definitely a squad boost but watch them also try and sell hi for a profit in like 2 years. He's gonna be exceptional in hat squad as he's already proven in that league. If he is allowed to be compete in UCL with them this year then watch out
