Takeaways who only take cash

The figure if it is 37billion maybe more maybe less would still be there even if these magical loopholes were closed and waste was reduced, so either way those who break the law and dont pay the correct tax from taking cash are stealing from us. Not the tax man, not the govt in general, us.
Now if I was to grab a tenner out of your back pocket and you caught me as Shania Twain says that wouldn't impress you much.

This look over there someone else is doing something doesn't wash, its a lazy argument.

You get nabbed by the police speeding whilst having a dead body in your boot.......

Fuck me judge that Hamiton bloke does 200 mph and Fred West was a right murdering ****.

Good point sir on your way.

Im not sure it works that way.

:-)
When I was in salaried employment I inadvertently got on self assessment. The tax man would not allow me off it.
One year they decided I had underpaid tax by £800. (In 1998 that was a lot of money) They wanted payment immediately.
Despite my firm stating they had deducted the correct amount of tax and they were aware of this so called anonomaly they would not pursue it with the IR as they were too powerful.
I tried fighting on my own and all I achieved was getting it paid over 2 months. I asked the tax man why they were not chasing the rest of the staff, if I had underpaid so had they. His answer was that they weren't on self assessment.
From that moment on I decided I would pay as little as possible. When I became self employed, well let's just I got my £800 back.

I once claimed flights to Milan, train fare to Turin and a hotel there.
My accountant queried it and I said I was meeting a potential client.

We lost.
I put my season tickets through as customer entertainment

Query, can my email be traced through user account?

There was a time when I thought the banks work for us and on our best interests

Wrong, we work for the banks and they have no interest in customers or the greater good
Modern day slavery.

Hence the access to credit for even the worst financial minds.

Tied to the banks for our whole lives.

Doesn't happen anymore. Maybe with VAT?
I have no idea, I'm not a tax-fraudster small businessman. All I know is that shit stinks of shit, whoever it comes out of.

If the people who submit fraudulent claims for business expenses don't have double standards regarding other peoples' legal transgressions, or don't hold opinions that start with "this country would be a lot better off if....", then I cut them a little slack.

Those that do, well, I give them both barrels, reload and keep firing, ad infinitum.

A moral bloke would have got his £800 back then paid what was due thereafter.
You have just done what most would do and no mental gymnastics can make it right, dont let me catch you moaning about public services though:-)

Thinking about it i have mates who brag about their schemes in tax reduction. They only have one thing in common they ain't short of a bob or two.

I did it deliberately as it so easy for us to just hear a word without realising just how much it actually is. It's £37 billion. Or £1 for every second since the year 852AD-mind boggling!!
Where have you got that figure from ?
The government itself states its 5 billion but then go on to say its a possible under estimation.
The true figure is believed to be 6 billion.

That's way under what you are quoting
