why does mancini always take tevez off? everything was going through him yesterday and as soon as we took him off the team just looked shabby.

Took him off yesterday because we play Leicester this week!!!!
Unless you want to rely on Jo to take us through to the next round (as Balotelli injured & Dzeko illegible) then he needed to make sure that Tevez came through the game unscathed - we were winning comfortably at the time so a very easy decision to figure out.

Tévez ran himself into the ground yesterday, as he always does for the cause, so he was probably dead on his feet.
Milner did well when he came on, as did Silva.
And as has already been stated, Bobby Manc knows a hell of a lot more about his players than any of us do.

No Dzeko or Balotelli on tuesday would be my guess, also I think it's reasonable to expect to hold onto a 3 goal lead even if you take a forward off.....

also, now this might be bollox but when a player had a particularly good display it does give the crowd to show their appreciation. remember he is making it clear that he wants to leave

Probably so he can protect him from injury & have him available for the next game. Mancini has his reasons & I back him 100% even if I disagree.

I said that at the time, that Mancini wanted Tevez to get a standing ovation as he came off the pitch.

2 reasons. One is that Carlos runs so much that Mancini knows he will not have the gas to chase down balls and defenders in those crucial final minutes. better to have a fresh player on.
Two, and this may sound a bit silly. But he usually does it when Carlos has scored or had a good match so that the crowd can give him a standing ovation towards the end of the match that is all his own. Managers do this for star players like Tevez.

The standing ovation he received gave me goosebumps. It was really fantastic to see the whole stadium up and applauding him. Even Milner was applauding Tevez before he came on.
