one thing that is really gripping my s**t with this lot is them constantly referring to Gollum as 'Davey' some prentious, false, sycophantic misplaced affection to someone who couldn't give 2 s***s about any one of them!!!

Lets not forget that this forum and City fans in general who in not a small way were responsible for Irani (RIIAC!) losing his job as co-presenter with Brazil. From all reports he was none to happy about it. Hence his silly, childish way of getting back at us - possible?

Do you really think the powers that be at TS looked at this forum, that thread in particular and fired Irani because of it, or partly because of it?
As for Brazil, I was always under the impression he didn't like Irani anyway, as their co-presenting was awkward to say the least. Either way though, I can't see how him referring to Moyes as 'Davey' is a way of getting back at City fans, it's just them talking as though they know everyone in football personally, which they know will get the backs up of football fans the nation wide. It does my head in, yet for the life of me I don't know why, it just does. 'Scotty' used to wind me right up.

I tweeted Moose the other night, he commented on how Kate & Wills' kid was the same birth weight as him. Naturally, I pointed out that the kid had a lot of eating to do to catch up with the fat fuck. Strangely, he didn't reply....

They refer to our players on first name terms too, I have been guilty of it, mainly with Mario as it's quicker. That affectionate 'y' on the end though, well fuck that.

Davey is a very well accepted shorthand for David and used extensively in Glasgow, as I found when I lived there for a shirt while. As both men are Gladwegians, it's not surprising in the least to hear Brazil call him Davey, no matter how annoying it may seem.

As for the rag wankfest, think of it this way... For 25 years they've had truculence and contempt from a man who wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire in terms of rag manager coverage. By being nice to Davey, they no doubt expect a period of McGlasnost from the rags and in turn all that brings. Call it relationship building if you like.
