In the Isco thread trying to lose my job
Considering we were still in "pre-season mode" I couldn't help but notice the condition of the team compared to "in season" last year.

Yaya, as has been pointed out on another thread, Kolarov, Richards, Dzeko and even GB, look leaner, sharper and faster. I dont care if Inter were "two weeks" behind, we were two months in front of them. Mancini is often under estimated regarding his methodical preparation but he seems to have got the players into the "zone" and "condition" for winning. Look at MR2's tweet - The guy is foaming to get out there and win.

I fully expect us to fly out of the blocks this season.

Originally noticed it against the Galaxy. We looked very sharp. I know there was the World Cup last year but the difference is night and day.

Very true.

It also goes for mental conditioning. We looked confused and overall not ready in last year's preseason and at White Hart Lane.

From a physical and mental perspective, it's totally different this year.

good post. agree totally.

i would also say the team spirit should be much better than the start of last season which will count for 10-12 points alone.

The only concern is that teams that start the season in peak condition can struggle to last the pace

Only if you don't use your squad well, and the same 11 players are starting every game.

We have more than enough talent to give people regular rests to stop burnout.
