Tents on airlines advice

Going Lake Como for a few days at the start of June and need advice on taking a tent (sleeping bags etc) with me on the flight.

Can I take a tent on as hand luggage or Is it worth the extra cost to put them in hold luggage. If anyone has any tips no saving money, that'd be great, Thanks.

Depends who you fly with.
Wigwam Air are pretty good about it.

As the above poster said, depends who it's with. Airlines are poles apart when it comes to baggage. I wouldn't peg my hopes on a budget airline though.

Air Stewards on the flight will help. They're usually very camp.

Had a similar problem.

I went to the doctor and said sometimes I think I'm a wigwam and sometimes I think I'm a teepee. He said you're two tents.
