So do you think we should only ever accept French, Irish, Norwegian and Dutch refugees?

This is the second part of the sentence people never say when they suggest we shouldn’t take people who have been through another safe country, world geography means we’d never accept anyone by this standard.

The entire reaction to this terrorist attack has been deeply disturbing.

Until last week, I'd never seen parliament react to a terrorist attack by MP's standing up and expressing condolences to the terrorists family for his suicide.

Sir Roger Gale (con) Madam Deputy Speaker, will you allow me first to express my condolences to the families of those affected by the incident at Dover, particularly the family of the man who was responsible, who had very severe mental health difficulties? I think our thoughts ought to be with all of them.​

Can you imagine anyone ever saying this about the 7/7 bombers, or Westminster Bridge terrorists?

As it turns out counter-terrorism have said right wing ideology was the motivating factor, not mental health issues.

I totally agree. My point was simply for the police to declare it as a terrorism incident it had to involve some work.

TACT gives the police more powers particularly under length of detention of prisoners-that wasn’t required here-unless of course the investigation revealed links to other individuals.

Personally I’ve been appalled at Braverman and the others who have spewed their dog whistle racist bile to incite their base and divert from their own actions. They of course know full well that a good 25-30% of the population agree with it which is deeply upsetting.

I am not at all surprised by Gale's comments, both our tory MP's for this area are grade 1 twats.
