I've started to see many posts about how they have both now clicked as a partnership, and how we are on the up and up because of it. There's a few little flicks and runs which make you feel like they are starting to get on some sort of wavelength, however, I disagree that they have truly 'clicked' and now have a proper working partnership.
They're definitely getting there, and I can't decide where I stand on the issue of them passing to each other in those types of situations where one has a shot at goal, but the other is better positioned.
Are they that full of confidence that they want to take on every strike? Are they both trying to get as many goals as possible? Are they just not seeing each other yet?
We have played two games against Burnley and Birmingham where the defences have been ran over. Whether this is actually down to us or them is a debate in of itself, but if you are knocking that amount of goals past people then we're doing something correct.
There hasn't been many times where I've seen us have a proper working partnership in our team. Dunne/Distin had it back in the day, and that sort of telepathy that Robinho/Ireland had early on was just such a joy to watch.
I'm starting to believe that Tevez may actually be an alien, as nobody born on this Earth can have the type of anticipation that he does. He can spot a run better than a Jedi with 10 eyes. On the same part, Adebayor's finishing is literally the best that I've seen of any City player live, every time he gets a chance, I'm confident he'll score. We may actually have a partnership here that could be as good as the infamous Toshack/Keegan that Liverpool used to have, that others refer to.
However at the moment, they still seem a bit individualised and I'm in two minds whether or not this is a good or bad thing. Against the Burnley's of the world, this is great, against the CL teams, maybe not so much.
Am I expecting too much from them? It's early days in their partnership, but I can't see how two players with the abilities they have can be made a case of that they have clicked yet. In my opinion, there is so much more to come from them as soon as they put a team goal on the same level of importance as their own.
