Tevez interview in the Mail

How many on here have actually read the Mail article - rather than reacting to negatively presented extracts - like those portrayed in the Guardian

A 2 page spread (which we would not have attracted before) - and it is clear throughout that Carlos is very happy - in fact it is a very positive read for a CITY fan - even the stuff that is presented negatively is not a problem:

I admire that he had respect for Hughes and would have wished he had been given more time - shows some loyalty - but the way he says it is not any problem

I have no problem in the way he states that the poster campaign was down to the club - he does not make a big thing out of it - of course it was down the the club's marketing people - and very well done

I love the way he is clearly committed to CITY and the fans - which comes out in spades

CITY fans should stop doing the gutter presses job for them - getting wound up before this key match

Oh the irony
Do you think they may be just making it up as they go along too BK?
Patsy, caretaker for Jose, short contract, poor tactics, poor motivator, Superman hates him, all the players hate him, players decide tactics, players pick team, players ignore him when subbed, poor body language, now he has decided to leave......etc etc

What do you think will be next - Mancio is ill, Mancio called back to Sardinia by the mafia?

The hard part for me to understand is why respectable posters join in with their hobby? Is it just boredom or is the joy of success too much to bear?

;-)

Who normally starts the mindgames?

For me watching the team last couple of games I haven't seen any evidence whatsoever that they are tired or at loggerheads with Berto.

In fact to the contrary they seem to be fitter, faster and enjoying themselves emmensly especially ade who had the biggest smile on his face all season.

Nothing like letting the rags know we are tires and that their is dissention in the ranks when in fact the opposite is true. Just another way of looking at it!!!!!
Well spotted. Most people don't realise how things work. These stories get published for a reason and the trick is to understand the reasoning.

This is clearly an authorised interview with the full co-operation of the club PR team. Lee Clayton has had some very privileged access in the past and there is no way he would risk that by doing an unauthorised interview like this. So I suspect the reasoning behind it is as Rammyblues says but there may be a sub-text by the club vis-a-vis Mancini himself.

Ah, the old "reverse double whammy shuffle" approach.

like it.

Yes. Because it really makes f**king sense for the club to publicly torpedo the manager in the crucial run in for 4th spot and prior to a crucial derby match.

Conversely they could just back the manager, get 4th spot and then with regret and lots of honeyed words replace Mancini in the summer if that is their wish.

Or they could try and f**k up the chase for 4th spot.

Decisions, decisions.

The really stupid thing about the article re Mancini is when in the history of the world have fans of a football club ever had any f**king sympathy for a football player on £100k plus a week having to work in the morning and the afternoons. Especially on the back of 3 victories and 11 goals scored in the last two?

I mean when? Seriously name me one instance when fans have gone 'Oh the poor lambs'

Carlos has been a tit more with his comments over the owners than the manager - or is that part of the masterplan? However it appears that Kia whathisname is acting on behalf of Hughes and his relationship with City has cooled hence if we are going to look at subtext I suggest we may have found a more valid one.

Love Carlos to bits but the sooner he removes Kia's hand from his arse the better.

For a clever guy Bob, you've quite spectacularly failed to read between the lines.

Then enlighten me. I am prepared to be proven wrong or consider an alternative perspective.

I've just noticed this Barry article, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ct-timing-Champions-League-race.html?ITO=1490

Reading between the lines - and you don't exactly have to delve too deep TBH - the quotes in the last couple of paragraphs sound like a club response to the Tevez article.

'Having the one game a week is ideal for the manager. We're putting it in during training, we're getting the rewards during the games, and we're getting the rest between games as well as the manager having the time to prepare.

'We'd have loved to have been in cup competitions, playing two games a week, but because we're not it's really benefiting us at the moment.'

For what it's worth, Lee Clayton is a West Ham fan who has very close links to Joorabchian.

They are just taunting you BK, there is nothing between the lines.
I'm sure it's really obvious to all that the Club would plant an interview telling the world how stupid and wrong it was to sack Hughes.

Actually, it's you and your mates who are the ones doing the hounding and the taunting.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I ever again post anything to do with what may or may not be going on behind the scenes. I won't even speculate. I think it's best served to leave the likes of you to your blind faith.

We all want what is best for the club - unfortunately it's the owners and powers that be who will decide WHAT actually is best.

That's a shame Billy and I mean that sincerely.

But for someone who seems to think those of us who can't pick up on all these subtle pointers are a bit dim, don't you think you are being a bit over sensitive?

If being tired of having your integrity questioned by people, who were pm'ing you a few months back asking for news, is oversensitivity then so be it. Not really that bothered mate.

Most of these conversations are about possibilities rather than facts, because we're not the owners so we'll never know 100% what's going on. But what I see is lots of people abusing anyone who dares to question whether Roberto will be around after the summer.

Oh come on. Hounding and taunting is par for the course on here and it happens on both sides of the fence. I don't have a problem with people speculating or chucking out juicy titbits but equally I am going to point out huge flaws in any information presented and if people are going to get upset by this well stop posting information that makes little sense.

I haven't a clue as to what subliminal messages the club is sending out; my only observation is why are they f**king bothering. If they want to get rid of Mancini at season end they they will and pointless articles about training methods or whatever isn't going to make a toss of difference either way.

I'll admit I am bored with people dissecting statements, body language purely in an attempt to back up some claim they have made earlier in the month. First we have Jose (again) nailed on for the City job which is followed by Jose pleading with the British media to give him a job in the PL so go figure that one out.

Then its not necessarily Jose but Fabio and Mancini going to Juve except he isn't as Rafa is after that job except he isn't because he is going to Madrid except he isn't because they want Jose except they don't and according to Jose's agent he will be staying at Inter with Gerrard joining him in the summer except he isn't because Gerrard is joing City along with Torres except he isn't because...

...and on and on it goes.

I am seriously past caring who will manage us next season but I do know that I will personally hound and taunt the first f**king person who posts on here the first 'itk' rumour/nailed on fact that next season's manager whoeverheis will be replaced/sacked/whatever by end of season.

So to make it brief I don't believe one single thing that any 'itk' posts on here on the subject of the manager because I honestly don't think the owners genuinely know themselves which way they will jump season ends.

Interesting. He's also Head of Sport at the Mail, which has enjoyed a close relationship with City in the past. So I still can't see that he would risk that for an unauthorised interview a few days before a derby match.
